Action! Action! Action! Im abschließenden Kapitel des New Caprica-Zyklus verbraten die Showrunner Ron Moore und David Eick das Effektbudget einer halben Staffel, um den kümmerlichen Rest der Menschheit aus den Fängen der Zylonen ins All zu retten. Dabei müssen einige unserer Heldinnen und Helden große Verluste verkraften, allen voran unser liebster Brummbär Saul Tigh und die frisch gebackene Mutti Kara "Starbuck" Thrace. Und last but not least: Goodbye, Battlestar Pegasus! Die Zeit mit dir war zu kurz. Schluchz!

Falls ihr unsere Rubrik 'Housekeeping' vermisst habt, in der wir Buße für unsere Versäumnisse und Missverständnisse aus früheren Podcastfolgen tun, könnt ihr euch freuen. Denn nicht nur rekapitulieren wir den risikoreichen Rettungsplan der Galactica für die auf New Caprica gestrandeten Zivilisten, wir widmen uns auch ein weiteres Mal Jamie Bambers (Lee/Apollo) Fatsuit. Außerdem stürzen wir uns in zwei Feuergefechte, in die Traumwelt der Zylonen, Baltars Verzweiflung, Karas Muttergefühle und fragen uns, ob die Alkis Ellen und Saul Tigh wirklich so schlechte Zieheltern wären. Und zum Ende geht's nach viel militärischem Pathos dann auch noch auf die Alm!

Wieder einmal packt BATTLESTAR GALACTICA so viele Storylines, wechselnde Allianzen und große Gefühle in 45 Minuten, dass wir kaum hinterher kommen. Und Britt-Marie hat Fragen. Warum macht plötzlich niemand mehr blöde Sprüche über Lee Adamas Plauze? Warum sieht Colonel Tigh wie ein Pirat aus, spricht aber nicht wie einer? Und wer genau unterrichtet die Schulkinder auf New Caprica, wenn Oberlehrerin Laura Roslin zum Schafott gefahren wird? Das Ende von "Am Abgrund" hinterlässt uns zwar mit vielen offenen Fragen, aber auch einem erfüllenden Seherlebnis. Und wie sagt man so schön: Der Weg ist das Ziel, oder? Und der ist diese Woche ebenso schweißtreibend wie sehenswert.
