<p>这六字真言,就是胡锦昌写在刘钊伊编著《孙中山在马新》序文的题目。</p> <p>《光华日报》办完百年大庆之后,正好是辛亥百年之刻,胡锦昌又出了个考题,便是要把孙中山在马新的历史空白填满。</p> <p>这个任务,他就交给刘钊伊去办。有关孙中山的正史、野史都不放过,统统拿回来研究。</p> <p>趁着辛亥百年之际,《孙中山在马新》的系列适时推出,把孙中山在马新那些年鼓吹革命,推翻满清政府,华裔如何出钱出力,毁家纾难,一一记载,一一带出南洋的风土人情。</p> <p>《孙中山在马新》得以出版,胡锦昌有此感叹:</p> <p>人生到处知何似,</p> <p>应似飞鸿踏雪泥;</p> <p>泥上偶然留指爪,</p> <p>鸿飞哪复计东西。</p>

<p>辛亥革命前,孙中山奔走世界各地,在华侨社会中广泛宣传革命思想、建立革命组织。</p> <p>从 1905 年至 1911 年期间,孙中山多次到访槟城,结识了一批支持革命的有识之士,也在这里召开 “庇能会议“ ,促成三大革命团体,即同盟会槟城分会、槟城阅书报社即《光华日报》的成立。</p> <p>拜访槟城时,孙中山发表了三民主义的演说,表示若不推翻满清政府,中国必亡。</p> <p>当时,多数人都不赞同他的革命言论,反而讥讽孙中山,指他 “无父无君”,奶叛逆 “造反“。</p> <p>然而,这并没有浇熄孙中山的革命热枕,反之他更积极地在当地拓展革命运动。</p> <p>海外华人研究学者、澳洲阿德莱特大学历史与政治学院兼任讲座教授颜清湟博士指出:</p> <p>“庇能会议“ 在辛亥革命的历史上具有重大的意义,使马来亚的华人在辛亥革命运动的舞台上,扮演者重要的角色。</p> <p>“从广阔的历史远景来看,如果没有 “庇能会议“ 的召开,就没有黄花岗之役,也就没有同年的武昌起义,那么也就没有辛亥年的革命了。“</p>

<p>槟城的柴埕其实有两处。一个是记忆里的老柴埕,在 Maxwell Road;另一个是现今意义的柴埕,在日落洞的 Bakau Street。</p> <p>叫做柴埕,应该是在火柴公司从原来的 “柴路头“,搬迁到今日社尾菜市场边侧的大沟渠经营之后的事。</p> <p>从 19 世纪以来,槟城的柴埕似乎经历了几番迁徙。</p> <p>原先躲在海墘路里侧的所谓柴埕,从此就被迁移到日落洞 “下洞”(指日落洞邻近市区处)的 Bakau Street,被后人称为 “新柴埕“。</p> <p>至于老年代的生活里与民生攸戚的烧火柴,乃至其供应源头的柴埕,随着生活条件的逐渐变化,在现代人的生活周遭,早已褪去它鲜明的印象。</p> <p>岁月流转,跨过了世纪门槛,才发觉原来它们一直都在时,竟然换来老槟城的一脸错愕...</p>
