TRANSPUAN? STIGMA DAN DISKRIMINASINYA
<p>Istilah yang lebih humanis bagi waria adalah transpuan. Transpuan tidak lepas dari stigma dan diskriminasi. Hal ini dipertegas oleh Riska @tariskaindri yang merupakan populasi kunci transpuan di Bali ketika berbincang dengan Bali Sruti. </p> <p><br></p> <p>Menurutnya, stigma dan diskriminasi yang dialami mewujud dalam bentuk yang paling sederhana sekali sampai diskriminasi yang parah. Seperti misalnya pandangan sinis atau sebelah mata, hingga ke pelayanan dari pemerintah yang dikesampingkan. Akibatnya banyak transpuan tidak mendapatkan haknya sebagai warganegara. Bahkan ada juga beberapa transpuan yang sampai putus sekolah, tidak bisa berobat atau tidak bisa mendapatkan pekerjaaan yang layak karena menerima stigma dan diskriminasi. </p> <p><br></p> <p>Kriminalisasi juga tidak luput menimpa saudara-saudara kita yang termarginalkan ini. Seperti diusir dari kos atau dari tempat usaha. Padahal mereka mencari uang secara wajar dan melakukan kewajibannya dengan baik serta juga taat membayar pajak. Namun masih saja tidak diterima oleh masyarakat yang terganggu akan kehadiran mereka. </p> <p><br></p> <p>Riska mewakili teman-teman transpuan lainnya berharap masyarakat tidak mendiskriminasi lagi dan masyarakat bisa melihat dan menghargai hasil karya mereka. "Perlakukanlah kami seperti biasa saja, sepanjang kami masih tetap dalam perilaku yang wajar. Karena sesungguhnya kami pun ingin membantu Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia ini!” Ujar Riska.
