Welcome to Band Banta, a podcast that champions Australian music from the ground up. Based in Adelaide/Kaurna, Band Banta is all about honest convos and creative storytelling with the musicians shaping Australia’s music scene.
Hosted by Aus music lover, Dakota Griffiths, each episode is an interview with Australian musicians from across the country. Hear firsthand stories behind new releases, songwriting processes, and what it really means to be a musician in Australia today.
In this episode of Band Banta, I catch up with Archie and Henry from Adelaide indie-electro-pop band, Tonix.
Tonix are set to release their sophomore EP, 'I'm still not quite sure what's going on yet' on Friday, the 16th of October. So, during the chat, we dive into the forthcoming EP and how it portrays the experiences of early adulthood.
We also explore the excitement of Tonix's first international shows, as they prepare to head to the EU and UK this November/December for a showcase at the PIN Conference in Macedonia and a headline tour!
Tonix will be hosting a fundraiser gig in Adelaide on Friday 23 October to help upgrade their equipment for the international shows, so if you'd like to support them, grab a ticket or share their EP: https://www.moshtix.com.au/v2/event/tonix-ep-release-party-eu-tour-benefit-18/199592 (https://www.moshtix.com.au/v2/event/tonix-ep-release-party-eu-tour-benefit-18/199592 )

effie isobel: An ethereal debut EP
In this episode of Band Banta I caught up with the wonderful effie isobel! ✨
effie isobel is a dream pop artist from Kaurna/Adelaide who just released their debut EP ‘Libra Rising’.
Something I really love about effie is how much effort they put into creating a world behind each single and release. Which is why, we did a special arts and crafts session making a ‘Libra Rising’ mood board!
effie is also taking the EP on a debut Australian headline tour heading to Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide!
