کمیسیونی برای مقام زن نهادی وابسته به شورای اقتصادی و اجتماعی سازمان ملل متحده که از سال ۱۹۴۶ میلادی با هدف برابری جنسیتی و کمک به پیشرفت زنان تشکیل شده. جامعه جهانی بهائی نیز در زمینه همکاری با این کمیسیون سابقه طولانی داره، به طور مثال آن چنان که در خبری از سرویس خبری جامعه بهائی آمده، این جامعه در سال ۲۰۱۷ میلادی با حضور در کمیسیون مقام زنان سازمان ملل متحد در گفتمان پیشرفت زنان مشارکت داشت

همواره شاهد آن بودیم که در سده های متمادی، جنسیت زنان سبب دوری آنان از مشارکت در فعالیت های علمی شده، روز یازدهم فوریه روز جهانی مشارکت زنان در علم بود، یعنی روزی که به نقش زنان نه تنها به عنوان مصرف کنندگان دانش بلکه به عنوان تولید کنندگان علم توجه میشه. بیش از یک قرن پیش، زمانی که در سراسر جهان زنان هنوز در همه عرصه های فردی و اجتماعی جایگاهی پایین تر و نابرابر با مردان داشتند، آیین بهائی دستیابی به برابری زن و مرد را محقق دانست.
