About Baptist Temple Hour

At Florence Baptist Temple, we are a church family committed to proclaiming God’s Word with clarity, conviction, and compassion. Since 1969, FBT has stood as a lighthouse in Florence, South Carolina, faithfully preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping believers to live out their faith in a world that desperately needs hope. Our services emphasize Bible preaching, Christ-centered worship, and family discipleship. From children’s ministries and student programs, to strong adult teaching and outreach efforts, everything we do flows from our conviction that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. Every message points to the heart of the Gospel: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). Whether you’re a long-time believer looking for spiritual growth, or a seeker with honest questions about faith, we invite you to join us as we worship, learn, and serve together. Our mission is simple: To glorify God, proclaim Christ, and shine as lights in a dark world (Philippians 2:15–16).

   Episode 47: The Incomparable Christ | Ephesians 1:21-22 | Philippians 2:9-11 | Colossians 1:14-18

There has never been anyone like Jesus. In this Sunday morning message from Florence Baptist Temple, Bill Monroe lifts up the Lord Jesus Christ as the incomparable Christ — beyond comparison, without equal, supreme over all.Preaching from Ephesians 1:21–22, Philippians 2:9–11, and Colossians 1:14–18, this message shows why Scripture speaks of Christ in superlatives, not comparisons. Jesus is not merely better — He stands alone. In this sermon, we see five reasons Christ is truly incomparable:• His eternal pre-existence — the only Person who had a life before He was born• His pre-announced coming — foretold for centuries in Old Testament prophecy• His unmatched impact on history — the One who split history itself into “before” and “after”• His perfect purity of character — tempted in all points like we are, yet without sin• His unique mission — born to die, shedding His sinless blood for our redemptionThis message concludes with a clear Gospel invitation and a personal question for every listener:What will you do with Jesus?Whether you are a believer deciding daily to live for Christ, or someone seeking answers about salvation, this message points you to the One whose name is above every name.“Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.” (Revelation 1:5)

Episode 46: The Indispensable Christ — Philippians 1:20–21; Colossians 3:1–4

In this Sunday morning message from Florence Baptist Temple,Bill Monroe preaches on “The Indispensable Christ.” From Philippians 1:20–21 and Colossians 3:1–4, you’ll discover that Christianity, the church, life itself, and our salvation all revolve around one Person—Jesus Christ.Christ is not an accessory to life; He is our life: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21). If Christ is indispensable, then life without Him is inconceivable. Listen as Pastor Monroe calls believers to put Jesus at the very center of every area of life and invites those without Christ to trust Him as Savior.

Episode 45: MY OLD FRIEND — Why We Still Give an Invitation

MY OLD FRIEND — Why We Still Give an InvitationFrom the Great Supper (Luke 14) to the final “Come” (Rev. 22:17), the Bible calls us to act on the truth we hear. Pastor Bill Monroe walks through Scripture and our evangelistic heritage to show why we move from praise to proclamation to public invitation—and why now is the right time to come to Christ (2 Cor. 5:11; Mark 8:36; Joel 3:14).
