About Bayan ul Quran – English Explanation by Dr. Israr Ahmed
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
This podcast shares the deep insight and classical Islamic scholarship of Dr. Israr Ahmed, with each episode kept within 50–60 minutes for listener ease. This humble effort of Qur’an recitation &reflection is dedicated as Sadaqah Jariyah to my beloved parents-in-law, my brother-in-law, and my grandparents who have returned to Allah. I also dedicate it to my parents who are alive, asking Allah to bless them with health, barakah, and long life in His obedience.

114 An-Nas - سورة الناس
Themes and purpose:
This surah is a focused lesson in seeking refuge with Allah from spiritual evil. Its purpose is to teach the believer an exclusive prayer for protection against the hidden, constant whisperings of the devils and evil individuals, affirming that the complete authority of Allah (as Lord, King, and God of humanity) is the only sure defense against internal corruption.
Context of Revelation:
Era: The majority is that it is Makkan, based on its sequential relationship with Sūrat al-Falaq.
Context: The surah was revealed to instruct the Prophet (ﷺ) to pray for protection against the internal, subtle evils which corrupt the hearts of the people he was calling to faith.

113 - Surah Al-Falaq - سورة الفلق
Themes and purpose:
This surah is a core lesson in seeking refuge with Allah. Its purpose is to teach the Prophet (ﷺ) and the believers an all-encompassing prayer to seek protection from all sources of evil: from general creation, from the darkness of night, from sorcery, and from the malicious intent of the hateful and envious.
Context of Revelation:
Era: The stronger view is that it is Makkan, though a report about the sorcery of Labīd ibn al-Aʿṣam led some to argue it is Madinan.
Context: The surah was revealed to provide the Prophet (ﷺ) with the specific, powerful words to seek protection from the general evils of the world, especially the hidden and spiritual dangers that threatened him and his community.

112 - Surah Al-Ikhlas سورة الإخلاص
112 - Surah Al-Ikhlas سورة الإخلاص
Themes and purpose:
This Meccan surah is the definitive statement of Islamic Monotheism. Its purpose is to describe Allah's nature, asserting His absolute Oneness, His status as the Eternal Refuge, His independence from parentage, and His unparalleled nature, thereby purifying belief from all forms of shirk.
Context of Revelation:
Era: Makkan according to the majority, as it establishes the core principle of Monotheism central to the early message.
Context: The surah was revealed when the Quraysh asked the Prophet (ﷺ) to "describe the lineage" of his Lord. It also serves as a general answer to similar questions posed by Jewish scholars and other groups, though the correct time of revelation places the initial query with the Quraysh in Makkah.
