Candid Convos Ep.19: lowering expectations to avoid disappointment and the importance of developing a deeper relationship with self
*The video cuts out for some reason part way of the episode not sure what happened but you can still listen in, sorry for the inconvenience for this one we hope to get it fixed for the next episode!*
Do you ever feel disappointed when an outcome you envisioned doesn’t play out? Or do you find you rationalize and overcompensate for someone’s behaviour or actions? We realize that sometimes the root of our disappointment comes when we set up high expectations and standards for others. How others decide to act and behave is out of our control and sometimes the best way to protect our peace is to simply observe and accept that that is how they choose to show up. Instead of focusing on those (people or things) that we can’t control, we must redirect our focus to ourselves and perhaps look at it as an opportunity to develop a deeper relationship with yourself. We discuss this and more in today’s episode. We hope you enjoy! What are you doing to protect your peace? How do you nourish your relationship with yourself? We’d love to hear from you! Candid Convos Ep.17: life changes - moving country, relationship “purgatory” and learning to navigate through big shifts
In this episode we get real vulnerable and talk about some big life changes that are happening in our family. We talk about what it has been like to witness a loved one prepare and pack up to start a new life in a new country and the feelings and emotions that come with it. As well as this idea of relationship “purgatory” when you’re on the path to engagement and noticing the little changes that come afterward. P.S. Jaimee also shares a little more insight on how her engagement unfolded!
Sometimes when we go through these shifts it can feel lonely and isolating so, we lay it all out in hopes of creating an episode where it’ll land in the hands of those who may need that comfort.
What are some ways or things that help you to navigate through big life changes?
We hope you guys enjoyed this episode! It was a more personal one 🫶🏼
