Hello Holiday Hos! We wanted to give y’all a special bonus episode as we enter into the Holiday Season.
As much as we love the Holidays, and damn we love them - we know it can be a very difficult time for people. And one of the reasons we know it can be challenging is for those who struggle with sobriety or struggle to know how to support your people who are sober.
So we wanted to take some time and talk about that. In this episode you will hear Zachary interviewing a friend of the podcast and both of them discuss their experience with substance abuse, their journey into sobriety, and where they are now.
So to everyone who is trying to get sober
To those who are sober
To those supporting others who are sober
Or supporting people who want to get sober
We leave space for all of you in this episode 🖤
Shoutout to our guest Monika

Hope: God is Good & People Suck
It’s the LAST EPISODE of Season One!!!!! And let’s be real, if you’re still listening to us drone on and on about religious trauma, then you’ve probably been through some shitty things in your life. We know this path has been painful and long and it feels like there is no hope. But as we talk about in this final episode, we PROMISE you there is hope. You don’t have to live in fear anymore. You don’t have to be stuck anymore. Give yourself permission to be courageous and let yourself hope. Let yourself dream. Let yourself live fully again. We love you all 🖤 XOXO Dirty Sinners

The Church: Bullshit Bullshit Bullshit
Welcome to our episode on church bullshit!!! There’s definitely NO hypocrisy in the church…none at all…but guess what?? We know it’s crazy, but did you know you don’t HAVE to go to church??? You don’t HAVE to give everything to ministry or to other people?? You don’t HAVE to buy into the church’s fear tactics??? NOPE!!! So tune in to this super fun critique of how the church indoctrinated fear into us as children, and don’t miss out on an amazing cringy evangelical story from Zachary’s childhood!!!

Scripture: Be Fruitful & Multiply
What were the verses you grew up with that people used to harm you? Well we gather together today to call BULLSHIT!!! Join us for a surprisingly wholesome episode where we start off nerdy (Michelle showing off that fancy Communication Degree) and end talking about genuine authentic love. And know that with these two sassy and silly hosts, we love and accept you exactly as you are. Let's all love like Jesus loved and show kindess like he did too, sound good? Let's do it. Let's be fruitful and multiply in a revolutionary way, not through indoctrination, but through unconditional love.

Who you sleep with is nobody’s fucking business! Sex is a normal and beautiful human experience that we should be celebrating and be open about! So let’s be real, is there a perfect way to date? HELL NO!!! Is there ONE WAY to enjoy sex? HELL NO!!! God wants each of us to experience every sexual experience and all of our queerness. And if you disagree, then go ahead and be the first one to cast a stone. We dare you.

Fear & Shame: Bunch of Dirty Sinners
Gather round the cauldron for Michelle & Zachary's deep dive into fear and shame. The church LOVES to use fear and shame to keep us in our our nice neat boxes. So what happens when we start to get curious and ask questions about all the things THEY say we should stay away from? What if MAYBE we each have our own journey and explanation with say...witchcraft? Or with substances like alcohol? Let's talk about it together.

Recovery: Starting Over After Trauma
As much as we would all like it to be easy, healing is no walk in the park. There is blame and anger and confusion that may or may not lead to a redemptive ending. So is it worth it to still seek out healing and to maybe even allow forgiveness along the way? Join Michelle & Zachary as they talk about the space of feeling “stuck after religious trauma” and discuss how they had to give themselves permission to start a new journey with no right or wrong answers.
