Season 2 Episode 7: The Version of You That Settled Is Gone
There comes a time when a woman realizes that just because she survived something doesn’t mean she has to keep living with it. The things she once overlooked now demand her attention. The situations she once made excuses for no longer make sense. And the life she once convinced herself was good enough begins to feel too small for the woman she’s becoming. She’s not asking for too much. She’s finally recognizing what she’s been living without. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re diving into the powerful transformation that happens when a woman stops accepting a life that doesn’t reflect her values, desires, or purpose. We’re talking about more than relationships. We’re talking about settling in your career, your dreams, your friendships, your personal growth, and even the promises you’ve made to yourself. How many opportunities have you talked yourself out of because you didn’t believe you were qualified? How many dreams have you postponed because you were afraid to start? How many times have you told yourself, “This is just how my life is supposed to be,” when deep down you knew you wanted something different? Sometimes settling doesn’t look like unhappiness. Sometimes it looks like becoming so comfortable with surviving that you forget you were created to live with purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God has thoughts of peace toward us, to give us hope and a future. In this conversation, we’ll explore the difference between contentment and complacency, how fear can keep us attached to familiar situations, and why rebuilding requires the courage to challenge the limitations we’ve placed on ourselves. You don’t have to have every answer before deciding that something needs to change. You don’t have to wait until everyone believes in your vision. And you don’t have to apologize for wanting a life that reflects the woman you’re growing into. The version of you that settled is gone not because she wasn’t enough, but because she finally realized she was capable of more. She’s no longer confusing being needed with being appreciated. She’s no longer allowing fear to make decisions that faith should be guiding. She’s no longer measuring her possibilities by her previous disappointments. And she’s no longer allowing temporary circumstances to become permanent limitations. This is your invitation to examine the areas of your life where you’ve been surviving on less than what you genuinely need. Not from a place of entitlement, comparison, or perfectionism, but from a place of wisdom, faith, and intentional growth. Because becoming her again isn’t about proving that you’re better than anyone else. It’s about refusing to become a smaller version of yourself just to remain comfortable in a life you’ve outgrown. You have permission to want more. You have permission to grow beyond old expectations. You have permission to pursue the dreams you once buried. And you have permission to become a woman your former limitations could never have imagined. The old you may have settled because she didn’t see another way. But the woman you’re becoming knows she has choices and she’s finally ready to make them.

Season 2 Episode 6: When You Outgrow the Need to Be Understood
There comes a point in your healing when you realize something that can completely change your life: Everybody is not going to understand you and they don’t have to. For years, you may have exhausted yourself trying to explain your heart, your decisions, your boundaries, your healing, and even your pain to people who had already decided how they wanted to see you. You explained why you were hurt. You explained why you needed space. You explained why something wasn’t acceptable anymore. You explained why you changed. And somehow, no matter how carefully you chose your words, they still didn’t understand. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about the freedom that comes when you stop needing everyone to understand the woman you’re becoming. Because rebuilding yourself also means rebuilding your relationship with validation. There was a time when being misunderstood may have made you question yourself. If someone disagreed with your decision, you wondered if you were making the wrong one. If someone became upset about your boundary, you questioned whether you were being too harsh. If someone told the story differently, you felt responsible for correcting their version. But healing teaches you something different: You can be misunderstood and still be making the right decision for your life. Galatians 1:10 asks: “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men?” Not every decision God leads you to make will make sense to the people around you. Some people knew you when you tolerated things you’ve now healed enough to reject. Some knew you when you needed their approval. Some were comfortable with the version of you who constantly explained herself. So when you become quieter, more confident, more prayerful, more intentional, and more secure in your decisions, they may not understand the change. Let them misunderstand. You don’t have to attend every argument you’re invited to. You don’t have to correct every assumption. You don’t have to defend every boundary. You don’t have to prove that your intentions were good. And you don’t have to keep explaining something to someone committed to misunderstanding you. There is a difference between healthy communication and constantly defending your existence. Sometimes peace sounds like: “I know why I made this decision, God knows my heart, and I am at peace with it.” That’s growth. That’s freedom. That’s rebuilding. You are learning to trust yourself enough that someone else’s misunderstanding doesn’t automatically become your identity. People may call your boundaries selfish. They may call your distance disrespectful. They may call your growth “acting different.” They may even tell a version of your story that leaves out everything you endured before you finally chose yourself. You don’t have to chase every misunderstanding and correct it. Your healing does not require a jury. God knows. You know. And sometimes, that has to be enough. As you continue rebuilding, give yourself permission to stop living your life as an explanation. You weren’t created to spend your entire journey proving yourself to people. Keep healing. Keep growing. Keep setting boundaries. Keep following God. Keep becoming. And when someone doesn’t understand the woman you’re becoming, resist the temptation to shrink back into someone they recognize. You have outgrown the need to be understood by everyone because you’re finally learning to understand, trust, and honor yourself. And that kind of peace doesn’t need permission. The Day You Stop Chasing
Season 2: Rebuilding Episode 5: The Day You Stop Chasing There comes a moment in your healing when you get tired of chasing. Chasing people for communication. Chasing consistency. Chasing friendships. Chasing relationships. Chasing apologies. Chasing closure. Chasing people to recognize your worth. And one day, something inside of you finally says: Enough. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about the powerful shift that happens when you stop chasing people, places, and situations that constantly require you to prove that you’re worthy of being chosen. For so long, you may have believed that if you loved harder, gave more, stayed longer, explained yourself better, or became exactly what someone needed, eventually they would recognize your value. But love shouldn’t require you to constantly convince someone to love you. Friendship shouldn’t require you to beg for reciprocity. And your worth should never depend on whether someone decides to choose you. Sometimes the greatest act of healing is learning to stand still and allow people to show you exactly where they want to be. Psalm 46:10 reminds us: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Being still doesn’t mean giving up. Sometimes being still means trusting God enough to stop forcing what He never asked you to chase. When you stop chasing, you begin noticing something important: Who calls when you stop calling first. Who checks on you when you’re no longer doing all the checking. Who makes an effort when you’re no longer carrying the entire relationship. Who values your presence without needing to experience your absence first. And most importantly, you begin discovering how much energy you’ve been spending trying to hold together things that were exhausting you. There is freedom in realizing: If I have to constantly chase it to keep it, maybe it isn’t mine to carry. Rebuilding means learning that you don’t have to run behind anyone to prove you’re worthy of love, friendship, respect, consistency, or consideration. Let people make their choices. Let people reveal their intentions. Let unanswered messages be information. Let inconsistent behavior speak. Let closed doors close. You don’t have to fight for a seat at every table. You don’t have to convince everyone to understand you. And you don’t have to chase people who repeatedly show you they’re comfortable losing you. Sometimes your greatest breakthrough begins the day you stop asking: “How can I make them choose me?” And start asking: “Why am I chasing something that requires me to abandon myself?” What’s meant for you won’t require you to destroy your peace trying to hold onto it. Stop chasing. Start trusting. Start receiving. Start allowing God to remove what you’ve been desperately trying to keep. Because the day you stop chasing may be the day you finally have enough energy to start pursuing the life, healing, purpose, and peace God has been calling you toward. You don’t have to chase what God has for you. Keep becoming. Keep rebuilding. And this time, let what’s meant to walk beside you meet you where you are. Becoming Her Again — Where Vulnerability Meets Strength.

Episode 4: The Guilt of Choosing Yourself
For so long, you may have been taught that being a good woman meant always putting everyone else first. Be available. Be understanding. Be forgiving. Be the dependable one. Keep everyone together. Make sure everyone else is okay even when you aren’t. So when you finally start choosing yourself, something unexpected can happen: You feel guilty. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about the guilt that can come when you stop sacrificing yourself for everyone around you and finally begin honoring your own needs, peace, boundaries, and well-being. Maybe you’ve started saying no without giving a long explanation. Maybe you’re no longer answering every call. Maybe you’ve stopped fixing problems you didn’t create. Maybe you’re choosing rest instead of constantly showing up for everyone else. Or maybe you’ve finally walked away from a situation that required you to continuously abandon yourself just to keep someone else happy. And even though you know the change is necessary, there’s still a voice inside asking: “Am I being selfish?” Choosing yourself doesn’t automatically mean you’re selfish. There is a difference between living only for yourself and finally realizing that you matter too. Mark 12:31 tells us: “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Notice that scripture doesn’t tell you to love everyone else while neglecting yourself. You are included in the love you so freely give away. In this episode, we’ll unpack why choosing yourself can feel uncomfortable, how people pleasing creates guilt, and why some people may resist your boundaries when they benefited from you having none. We’ll also talk about releasing the responsibility of keeping everyone happy. Because sometimes guilt isn’t confirmation that you’re doing something wrong. Sometimes guilt is simply the discomfort of doing something differently. You’re allowed to protect your peace. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to have boundaries. You’re allowed to stop carrying responsibilities that were never yours. You’re allowed to choose relationships that pour into you too. And you’re allowed to build a life where you don’t have to disappear in order for everyone else to feel loved. Rebuilding yourself means learning that choosing you doesn’t require rejecting everyone else. It means you’re finally refusing to reject yourself. You have spent enough seasons making sure everyone else had a place in your life. Now ask yourself: Have I made room for me? Release the guilt. God didn’t create you to spend your entire life pouring from an empty cup. Choosing yourself isn’t always selfish. Sometimes, it’s the beginning of finally becoming responsible for the woman God entrusted you to be. Becoming Her Again — Where Vulnerability Meets Strength.

Season 2 Episode 3: The Version of You They Keep Expecting
Season 2: Rebuilding Episode 3: The Version of You They Keep Expecting One of the hardest parts of becoming a different woman is realizing that some people will continue treating you like the woman you used to be. They remember the version of you who always said yes. The version who tolerated disrespect to keep the peace. The version who overexplained herself, gave unlimited chances, ignored her own needs, and stayed quiet because she didn't want to disappoint anyone. But that woman has been healing. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we're talking about what happens when you've changed, but the people around you still expect access to an older version of you. Sometimes people aren't upset because you've done something wrong. They're uncomfortable because the boundaries, confidence, and self-respect you've developed no longer allow them to interact with you the way they once did. And that can create tension. But growth is supposed to change you. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us: "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." You are allowed to become someone your past doesn't recognize. You don't have to continue playing an old role simply because someone else hasn't adjusted to your growth. You don't have to remain the fixer. The people-pleaser. The woman who accepts the bare minimum. The woman who stays silent. The woman who carries everyone else's problems while neglecting her own. The woman who repeatedly forgives behavior that continues to destroy her peace. Rebuilding means deciding which parts of yourself you're taking forward and which ones were only created to help you survive. Some people will keep reaching for the old you because the old you was easier for them to access. But you don't owe anyone continued access to a version of yourself that God is helping you outgrow. Let them notice the difference. Let them misunderstand the boundaries. Let them adjust to your growth. Your responsibility isn't to remain familiar to everyone else. Your responsibility is to keep becoming the woman God is calling you to be. The old version of you served her purpose. She survived what she needed to survive. She carried you as far as she could. Honor her. Thank her. But don't become her again just because someone else misses who you used to be. You're rebuilding now. And this time, you're building a woman who doesn't have to abandon herself to make everyone else comfortable. Becoming Her Again — Where Vulnerability Meets Strength.

Episode 2: When Healing Changes Your Friendships
Season 2: Rebuilding Episode 2: When Healing Changes Your Friendships Healing changes you and sometimes one of the most painful parts of healing is realizing that some friendships cannot come with you into the woman you’re becoming. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about what happens when your growth begins to change the relationships around you. Maybe you used to be the friend who was always available. The one everyone called when they needed something. The one who kept the peace, overlooked disrespect, accepted one-sided relationships, and gave more than she received. But then you started healing. You started saying no. You stopped overexplaining yourself. You created boundaries. You stopped participating in gossip and unnecessary drama. You became more intentional about protecting your peace. And suddenly, some friendships started feeling different. The truth is, healing can reveal relationships that were more connected to your lack of boundaries than they were to your heart. In this episode, we’ll explore the grief that can come with outgrowing friendships, recognizing one-sided connections, releasing guilt when relationships change, and understanding that every friendship isn’t necessarily meant to last through every season of your life. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us: “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Healthy friendships should have room for growth. The people who genuinely love you won’t require you to remain wounded so they can remain comfortable. Sometimes rebuilding means taking an honest look at who’s walking beside you and asking yourself: Do they support the woman I’m becoming or do they only feel comfortable with the woman I used to be? You can appreciate the memories and still acknowledge that you’ve grown apart. You can love someone and recognize that the relationship is no longer healthy. You can wish someone well without giving them the same access to you. And you don’t have to make someone your enemy just because they can no longer accompany you into your next season. Healing will change your relationships because healing changes you. And as you rebuild, you’re learning that friendship shouldn’t require you to betray yourself just to belong. Some people will grow with you. Some will celebrate you. Some will misunderstand you. And some may walk away. But don’t shrink yourself to maintain connections you’ve already outgrown. You’re not losing everyone. You’re learning who can love the healed version of you.

Season 2 Episode 1: The Standards You Lowered to Keep People
Season 2: Rebuilding Episode 1: The Standards You Lowered to Keep People How many times have you accepted less than you deserved simply because you were afraid of losing someone? Maybe you ignored the disrespect. Made excuses for inconsistency. Accepted half hearted love. Stayed quiet when something hurt you. Lowered your expectations. Or kept giving chances because you believed having them in your life was better than losing them. In the first episode of Season 2: Rebuilding, Becoming Her Again takes a deeper look at the standards we sometimes lower just to keep people comfortable, connected, and close. We’ll talk about the difference between compromise and self-abandonment, why fear of rejection can make us tolerate behavior that goes against our values, and how healing changes what we’re willing to accept. Because rebuilding yourself requires more than recognizing your worth you have to start making decisions that reflect it. Psalm 139:14 reminds us: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” You were never created to beg for consistency, chase basic respect, convince someone to value you, or continuously shrink yourself so someone else will stay. And sometimes the hardest truth is realizing that keeping certain people required you to keep losing pieces of yourself. This season is about rebuilding differently. Not from loneliness. Not from fear. Not from desperation. Not from the need to be chosen. But from self-respect, wisdom, healing, faith, and the understanding of who God created you to be. Your standards aren’t punishment for other people. They are a reflection of what you’ve learned, what you value, and what you are no longer willing to sacrifice. If someone can only remain in your life when your standards are low, raising them may cost you that relationship. And sometimes that loss is part of the rebuilding. Season 1 helped you remember her. Season 2 is about rebuilding her without lowering the standards she fought so hard to rediscover. Welcome to Season 2: Rebuilding. Hosted by: Unique Nas Becoming Her Again — Where Vulnerability Meets Strength.

Episode 10: The Power of Letting Go
Episode 10: The Power of Letting Go Sometimes, the hardest thing isn’t accepting that something has ended it’s accepting that you can’t carry it with you into the life God is calling you toward. In this season finale of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about the power of letting go releasing the people, relationships, expectations, disappointments, guilt, resentment, and old versions of ourselves that we’ve held onto long after their season has ended. Letting go doesn’t mean what happened didn’t matter. It doesn’t mean you never loved them. And it doesn’t mean you have to forget what you experienced. Sometimes letting go simply means accepting that you can no longer sacrifice your peace trying to change something God is asking you to release. We’ll talk about why we hold on even when holding on hurts, how fear can keep us emotionally connected to things we’ve already outgrown, and why closure doesn’t always come from another person. Sometimes, closure is the decision you make within yourself to stop reopening a door that God has already given you the strength to walk away from. Isaiah 43:18–19 reminds us: “Remember ye not the former things… Behold, I will do a new thing.” There is something powerful about finally saying, “I don’t need to carry this anymore.” You can forgive without reconnecting. You can love someone and still let them go. You can appreciate what a season taught you without returning to it. You can grieve who you used to be while still becoming excited about who you’re becoming. And you can trust God enough to release what’s familiar without knowing exactly what comes next. Throughout this first season, we’ve talked about remembering the woman underneath survival mode, releasing the pressure of always being strong, understanding that love doesn’t have to be earned, creating boundaries, rebuilding the relationship with yourself, beginning again, healing the little girl within, and learning to trust God again. Now comes the release. Because sometimes becoming her again requires letting go of everything that taught you to forget her. You don’t have to drag yesterday into tomorrow just because it was once important to you. Release the guilt. Release the resentment. Release the need for answers. Release the version of yourself that survived by settling. Release the relationships that require you to abandon yourself to keep them. Release what God has already shown you is no longer yours to carry. You’ve spent enough time holding on. Now give yourself permission to open your hands. Because when you finally release what was, you create room for God to show you what can be. This may be the end of Season 1: Remembering Her Again, but it is not the end of your becoming. You remembered her. Now it’s time to rebuild her.

Season 1 Episode 9: Learning to Trust God Again
Episode 9: Learning to Trust God Again There are seasons when trusting God feels natural—and then there are seasons when life hurts so deeply that even your faith begins to feel fragile. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about what happens when disappointment, grief, unanswered prayers, and unexpected endings leave you questioning the God you once trusted so easily. Sometimes the struggle isn’t that you stopped believing in God. It’s that you don’t understand why He allowed certain things to happen. You prayed. You believed. You hoped. And when things still fell apart, a part of you began protecting your heart—even from God. This conversation is about finding your way back. We’ll explore the difference between trusting God and understanding His plan, how to be honest with Him about your hurt, and what it looks like to rebuild faith one small step at a time. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay to come back to God. You can bring Him the questions, disappointment, anger, fear, and broken pieces too. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Trusting God again doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly have every answer. It means choosing to believe that even in the chapters you don’t understand, God has not stopped being present. Maybe your faith looks different now. Maybe it’s quieter. Maybe it’s being rebuilt after surviving things you never thought you would face. That doesn’t make your faith less real. Sometimes becoming her again means realizing that God never asked you to have everything figured out. He simply asks you to keep bringing your heart back to Him. You may not understand the journey yet, but you can still trust the One walking with you through it.

Episode 8: Healing the Little Girl Within
There are parts of us that grow older, and there are parts of us that stay frozen in the moments that hurt us most. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re having a tender conversation about the little girl within the version of you who may have felt unseen, unheard, unprotected, rejected, or forced to grow up too soon. We’ll explore how childhood wounds can quietly follow us into adulthood, shaping the way we love, trust, communicate, set boundaries, and see ourselves. Sometimes the woman you are today is still reacting from places the little girl inside of you never had the chance to heal. Healing doesn’t mean pretending the past didn’t happen. It means finally giving yourself the compassion, safety, reassurance, and love you may have needed back then. It means allowing God into the places you learned to hide and trusting Him to restore what pain tried to take from you. You are not required to keep carrying old wounds into new seasons. The little girl within you deserves to know she is safe now. She is worthy. She is loved. She is seen. And she no longer has to fight for the love, protection, or validation she always deserved. Sometimes becoming her again means reaching back, holding the hand of the girl you once were, and reminding her that she made it. And now, it’s time for both of you to heal.

Giving Yourself Permission to Begin Again
Starting over can feel scary—especially when you thought you would be further along by now. But beginning again doesn’t mean you failed. Sometimes, it means you’ve finally gained the courage to choose differently. In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we’re talking about releasing the shame attached to starting over and giving yourself permission to create a new beginning. Whether you’re rebuilding after heartbreak, walking away from something you’ve outgrown, rediscovering your dreams, or simply realizing you want more for your life, you are allowed to change direction. We’ll explore the fear of starting over, the pressure of other people’s expectations, and the importance of trusting God when the next chapter doesn’t look anything like the one you originally planned. You don’t need permission from the people who knew the old version of you to become the woman God is calling you to be. Your past may be part of your story, but it doesn’t get to write your ending. You can choose again. Dream again. Believe again. And most importantly you can begin again. This isn’t the end of your story. It may be the beginning of the chapter where you finally meet the woman you’ve been becoming all along.

In this episode of Becoming Her Again, we explore why boundaries can feel so difficult to create and maintain. We’ll unpack how childhood experiences, people-pleasing, fear of rejection, and the desire to be accepted often leave us believing that putting ourselves first is selfish. God never intended for you to sacrifice your well-being just to keep everyone else comfortable. It’s time to stop feeling guilty for protecting the life God has entrusted to you. Saying “no” to what drains you is often the first step toward saying “yes” to the woman you’re becoming.
