Real Lives Changed at Reborn
We talk a lot about what you should do. This episode is about the people who actually did it.
Travis and Patrick share the stories of 11 Reborn members whose lives have changed far beyond the gym: a mum of three who's now the fittest, happiest and healthiest she's ever been; a member in her 70s who can now get up off the lounge without using her hands; a young woman who once waited in the car, too nervous to walk in, and is now the PT bringing teenage girls through the door; and blokes whose wives and mums reached out to say, "He's a different person now."
They finish with the three things all of these people have in common, so you can do the same.
People join to change how they look. They stay because of how it makes them feel.
Lift one, lift many.

Why Most People Quit The Gym in the First 90 Days
Most people who join a gym are gone within three months. In this episode, Patrick and Trav break down why it happens, what the danger zones look like, and how Reborn keeps its members training for the long haul. Reborn's 90-day retention is far above the industry average, with Shellharbour sitting around 90%, and they explain why: the system is built for long-term lifestyle change, not a quick before-and-after photo.
What we cover
Weeks 1–4, the honeymoon. Everyone's keen, and that's the problem. Doing too much, doubling up sessions and training on motivation instead of routine is where it starts to go wrong.
Weeks 5–8, the dip. The early warning signs: missed sessions, turning up late, the energy fading. Plus what to say when someone feels like they're "not seeing any change", and why your "why" matters more than motivation.
Weeks 9–12, the decision point. This is where training becomes either part of your week or a chore. We cover the frog-in-the-pot analogy, why locking in days and times removes decision fatigue, and why knowing everyone's name and story matters so much.
Real member stories on what made it click, and why it often has nothing to do with training and everything to do with connection.
3 tips to last past the first 90 days
Start slow and make the change sustainable. If you can't see yourself doing it in 12 months, don't do it.
Do what you enjoy first. Add the "shoulds" later.
Bring a buddy and pick a time of day. Accountability and routine beat motivation every time.

The partner who doesn't train
You're locked in on your training. Your partner isn't. What now?
In this episode of Becoming Reborn, Travis and Patrick get into training with a partner, and what to do when yours doesn't train. A "partner" here means a wife, a husband, a brother or a mate. They cover why people who train with someone are more consistent, push harder and tend to last longer at the gym, and why trying to drag a reluctant partner along usually backfires.
They talk about what actually works: leading by example, inviting instead of pushing, and giving your partner something to train for. Travis shares how a Hyrox ticket turned into 12 weeks of perfect training. They also get honest about what can happen when one half of a couple gets fit and the other doesn't, and about the downsides of both training hard (like barely seeing each other on weekdays).
The episode finishes with their three reasons to train with your partner, including the one they say matters most: setting the standard for your kids.
In this episode:
The difference between members who train with a partner and those who come alone
Why gym partners keep you accountable and lift your intensity
Why dragging a partner to the gym rarely works, and what to do instead
Travis's Hyrox story: 12 weeks, six sessions a week, zero missed
What happens in a relationship when one person gets fit and the other doesn't
How to invite your partner without it sounding like criticism
Reborn's free Saturday sessions: bring a friend or partner along
Training together on holidays, and the upsides and downsides of both being locked in
Three reasons to train with your partner, and why your kids are watching
