Why Modern 8-Episode TV Seasons SUCK

Episode 287 of Beer, Blues, and BS delivers chaotic Flathead Valley police blotters, college throwbacks, and a fiery debate over the state of modern entertainment! Howard Blues leads another wild dive into The Blues Blotter, dissecting a unbelievable Montana report involving a driver who allegedly left $25,000 in cash, a house deed, a car title, and a 24-karat gold bar sitting on the roof of their car. That leads straight into hilarious personal stories of bizarre encounters with intoxicated strangers, along with nostalgic UND college memories of cranking dorm thermostats to 80 degrees during -70°F winter windchills. Over at the bar, Doc sips a Mendoza Malbec out of a Lululemon wine glass, Mark Kidder samples a honey lemon light brew, LCL Geek revisits a classic Midwest pilsner, and Howard tests a spooky "Pear Scare" energy drink. Plus, the crew tackles hot topics in pop culture—debating whether Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the MCU as Doctor Doom is a desperate move, analyzing why modern 8-episode CGI series feel clunky compared to 26-episode classics like Star Trek: The Next Generation, and sharing updates on local fall pumpkin patch trips. On Tap This Episode: Doc: Catena Malbec (Mendoza, Argentina). Mark Kidder: Leinenkugel’s Honey Lemon Light. LCL Geek: August Schell "No Frills Pils" & Sapporo Black. Why Modern Horror Movies Suck?

Episode 286 of Beer, Blues, and BS delivers major fitness milestones, sharp pop culture hot takes, and total basement treadmill insanity! Howard Blues blows past his original 250-mile walking goal while powering through hundreds of episodes of One Piece on the basement treadmill. That leads straight into a passionate group debate over the state of modern horror movies, as Howard, Doc, and LCL Geek call out cheap jump scares and overproduced tropes, while Mark Kidder dismisses the entire genre altogether. Over at the bar, the guys sample an eclectic lineup featuring traditional lagers, heavy dark brews, mint chocolate liqueurs, and fruity probiotic blends. Plus, the crew looks ahead to Mark’s upcoming Halloween trip to see Metallica at the Las Vegas Sphere, reacts to the latest gaming updates in Flashing Lights, and shares hilarious workplace walkie-talkie stories from local historical events. On Tap This Episode: LCL Geek: A classic East Coast lager & a massive roasted dark malt brew. Doc: Baileys Mint Chocolate Liqueur. Mark Kidder: Barntown Brewing "Driveway Drinker" Premium Lager. Grand Theft Helicopter

Episode 285 of Beer, Blues, and BS delivers venue showdowns, free grocery store beer, and an incredible Blues Traveler concert rant you have to hear to believe! Mark Kidder, Doc, and Rudeboy Kyle finish off their Midwest concert tour recap with a head-to-head comparison of Des Moines vs. Omaha. The crew dives deep into the high-flying drama of Blues Traveler's set—featuring a wild harmonica fiddle solo during "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and frontman John Popper going on a viral-worthy rant against audience signs ("signs are worse than guns!") before begrudgingly playing a rare fan request. Meanwhile, Howard Blues takes us back in time with a December edition of The Blues Blotter, covering everything from a "grand theft helicopter" report to a mother building a paper trail against her 13-year-old, a hostile AA meeting, and a bar patron booted for refusing to tip. Plus, Rudeboy Kyle shares how he scored a free 6-pack of PBR pounders at Hy-Vee, LCL Geek fights with an AI background generator, and the guys share heartfelt final thoughts on chosen family and being present for your kids.
