Faith, hops and love. Beer Christianity is a progressive Christian podcast that blends faith, politics and culture with pub chat.
Interviews with thinkers, artists and theologians. Honest, authentic discussions of theology and society. Almost no real understanding of beer. Expect all this and a bunch of laughs as we try to deconstruct, reconstruct and unf*ck our Christianity with fear, trembling and a couple of drinks.
Pour a pint, put your feet up and listen your way into a different kind of Christian podcast. A fresh alternative to conservative Christian podcasts that fail to question anything and deconstructing podcasts that see nothing in evangelicalism worth saving.
Expect strong political views, open religious dialogue and the occasional shambles in the 'studio'.
The gang talk Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, and whether artists - even really, really bland ones - should "get political".
Laura, Malky and Jonty also reflect on the wonderful Greenbelt Festival 2026, their favourite moments and what the festival means to so many. Episode 121 - Leigh Finke: being trans in US politics
Leigh Finke was the first openly trans woman to be elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives. She authored and championed Minnesota's Trans Refuge Bill and has worked tirelessly to expand LGBTQ+ protections in her state. She is also a Christian and author of Queerfully and Wonderfully Made: A Guide for LGBTQ+ Christian Teens. She spoke to Jonty, for Beer Christianity and an article in Issue 9 of Shibboleth magazine, about being trans in America and in politics, about how the "conversation" has shifted and about her own journey.
You can read the article by subscribing to Shibboleth and getting your copy in print from shibbolethmag.com (https://shibbolethmag.com/) where you can also read a small selection of articles from previous issues. You can find more from this podcast at beerchristianity.co.uk or scroll back wherever you get your podcasts.
Beer Christianity is an anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-racist, pro-LGBTQ+, pro-environment, pro-Palestine, pro-feminist, pro-Jesus podcast that is not nearly as serious as this makes it sound.
