   Life, Interrupted: Quiet after Chaos

What happens after you quit drinking—but the noise in your mind doesn’t stop? In this episode of Behind The Blonde, Kirby Myers shares a deeply personal reflection on life three and a half years into sobriety—when alcohol was no longer the problem, yet anxiety, overthinking, and nervous system overwhelm were still running the show. After removing alcohol and other unhealthy coping mechanisms, Kirby hit an unexpected breaking point. What followed was an experience that interrupted the chaos, helped quiet her mind, and reframed what healing can actually look like after sobriety. This episode is not about promoting a single healing modality. It’s about what surfaces after survival mode ends—and why true healing often begins when we finally slow down. In this episode, we explore: Life after quitting alcohol and what no one talks about Anxiety, overthinking, and a loud mind after sobriety Nervous system regulation and the pressure to constantly perform Healing without fixing yourself Learning to slow down after years of hustle and survival mode Finding stillness, clarity, and self-trust Kirby is joined by Jolie Wilson, who explains quantum hypnosis, breathwork, present-moment awareness, and how accessing the subconscious can help quiet the mind and release long-held patterns—without forcing belief or reliving trauma. If you’re sober, sober-curious, or questioning why you still feel overwhelmed after making “healthy” changes, this episode is for you. 👉 Like, subscribe, and share if this resonates. 🔔 Hit the bell to never miss an episode of Behind The Blonde. The Lies we were sold: Life after alcohol

What happens after you quit drinking — when the dust settles and real life begins? In this solo episode of Behind the Blonde, Kirby Myers reflects on an essay she wrote when she was one year alcohol-free, now viewed through the lens of nearly five years of sobriety. What started as a question — can life actually be fun without alcohol? — has turned into a lived truth she never imagined possible. Kirby reads her piece “Goodbye My Lover: A Year Without Booze” and opens up about: *The lie we’re sold about alcohol and fun *Why alcohol was never the fun — just the permission slip *Learning how to socialize, celebrate, and rest as an adult without drinking *Quiet joy, meaningful fun, and choosing depth over chaos *Why life doesn’t get smaller without alcohol — it gets bigger This episode is for anyone who’s sober, sober-curious, or simply questioning the role alcohol plays in their life. No labels. No pressure. Just honesty. If this resonates, please like, subscribe, and share it with someone who might need to hear it. Follow along on Instagram: @behindtheblondekw

   Choosing Conviction, Accepting the Consequences

Have you ever done the right thing—and paid for it socially? In this episode of Behind The Blonde, I share a moment from high school that shaped the way I move through the world: standing up for someone who couldn’t stand up for themselves, and losing an entire friend group because of it. Back then, I carried fear and insecurity. Now, I carry conviction. This episode is about the power of choosing love, the freedom that comes with age, and understanding that every choice has consequences—but we get to decide which ones we’re willing to live with. If you’ve ever felt isolated for doing what you knew was right, this one’s for you.

Staying Human in a Heavy World

The world feels heavy right now — and many of us are carrying that weight quietly while still showing up for our lives, our relationships, and the people who depend on us. In this episode of Behind The Blonde, I speak honestly about what it means to stay human in overwhelming times. About empathy, moral responsibility, emotional weight, and the quiet ways we try to move through the day when everything feels like too much. This conversation isn’t about having answers. It’s about choosing how we show up. About honoring our capacity. About kindness, compassion, and the unseen work happening behind the scenes — in our homes, our relationships, and within ourselves. I share personal reflections on motherhood, partnership, emotional overwhelm, and the importance of raising and modeling humanity without losing ourselves to fear, anger, or numbness. Some of the most meaningful work doesn’t happen loudly. It happens in small choices, quiet moments, and the way we treat others — even when it’s hard. Friendship is the Foundation, Intimacy is the Baseline

In this episode of Behind the Blonde, Kirby is joined once again by her husband, Britt, for a raw, honest, and deeply intimate conversation about sex, connection, and what it really takes to sustain desire in a long-term relationship. Following last week’s theme of intention and information, this episode goes between the sheets — unpacking why friendship may be the foundation of a relationship, but intimacy is the baseline. Together, Kirby and Britt explore how emotional connection impacts physical intimacy, why sex becomes a barometer for relational health, and how communication (both in and out of the bedroom) is essential for growth rather than regression. From navigating insecurity, body image, and ego, to dismantling shame around sex, porn, and performance, this conversation offers both the female and male perspective on why intimacy is far more mental, emotional, and vulnerable than we’re often taught. They talk openly about frequency, spontaneity vs. scheduling, the role of sobriety, eye contact, foreplay, reassurance, and the power of simply feeling seen and desired by your partner. This episode isn’t about doing it “right.” It’s about doing it intentionally — with curiosity, honesty, and compassion. If this conversation made you feel seen, challenged, or slightly uncomfortable… good. That’s intimacy.

No Resolutions: Choosing Clarity and Collecting Data

This episode talks about using our “hiccups” as personal data instead of evidence we failed. It’s about discomfort without shame. It’s about choosing clarity again- not perfectly but honestly. Almost 5 years ago I gave up alcohol and nicotine. What I didn’t realize for a long time was that I had quietly anchored myself to marijuana. I told myself it was helping me relax, helping me unwind. Until it wasn’t. After 4 months without it I decided to smoke over Christmas break while my kids were away. I wanted to escape- be less visible, less “on”. What followed was anxiety, self-doubt and a very familiar reminder: This is the only time doubt is allowed into my brain- and doubt is dangerous for me. This New year lets reframe. No resolutions. No punishment. Just choice by choice. Day by day. Happy fucking New Year.

The Pathless - Giving yourself Grace in the Rut

Lately, I’ve been feeling a little off—getting sick, struggling to find my rhythm again, and carrying that familiar mom guilt of not having enough energy for everyone during the busiest season of the year. This episode is for anyone who’s ever found themselves in the opposite place of where they want to be… because right now, that’s exactly where I am. We talk about the icky in-between space of life—the rut—where patience is thin, expectations are high, and women (especially mothers) feel the pressure to be everything for everybody. This is a raw, honest conversation about giving yourself grace when you’re tired, overwhelmed, and just doing the best you can. I also share some bonus thoughts around navigating sobriety during the holidays and party season, but at its core, this episode is about honoring where you are, naming it, and remembering that hard seasons don’t mean you’re failing. They mean you’re human.

Breathe Baby Breathe - Awakening the Embodied Woman

Breathe Baby, Breathe — In this powerful and deeply feminine episode, I’m joined by my dear friend, spiritual advisor, and yoga/quantum healing guide, Jolie Wilson. Together, we explore what it means to truly live in our feminine energy — to slow down, soften, and come back home to our bodies. We dive into the foundation of it all: the breath. How it influences our nervous system, our sexuality, our confidence, and our ability to choose presence rather than survival mode. It’s a reminder that filling our own cup isn’t selfish — it’s sacred. We discuss practical breathwork techniques that move us out of fight-or-flight and into a state of connection, pleasure, and ease. The Orgasm Expectation : Your Pleasure Isn't Optional

In this episode of Behind the Blonde, we’re getting real about female pleasure — the kind we’ve been taught to minimize, whisper about, or ignore altogether. The truth? Only 15–20% of women orgasm from penetration alone, yet so many of us wonder if it's our fault or silently stay unsatisfied for something that is purely human physiology. This is your permission slip to expect pleasure, not hope for it. We talk about why orgasms should be an expectation, not an assumption… why communication matters so deeply… and how stepping into your feminine AKA Jaguar energy isn’t about performance, but about receiving and connection. You’ll hear how shame has shaped the way women talk about sex — and how we break that pattern by using our voices, advocating for our pleasure, and refusing to settle for “almost.” If you’ve ever felt alone in your experience, this episode is your proof that you’re not. If you’ve ever felt hesitant to speak up about what you want, this is your sign to do it. No shame. No silence. Just truth, pleasure, and empowerment.

The Drinking Dilemma - When One Partner Ditches Booze

In this raw and revealing conversation, I sit down with my husband to unpack what really happens when one partner removes alcohol from their life—and the other isn’t quite ready to follow. We met as heavy drinkers with a big social life, but sobriety shifted the ground beneath our relationship in every possible way. Together, we talk openly about the fights, the misunderstandings, the ego, and the identity shifts that came with navigating two different paths around alcohol. He shares the male perspective—the pressure to drink, the role of ego, and what it felt like to watch me get sober before he was ready—while I offer insight from the other side of the journey. This is an honest look at evolving together, stumbling separately, and learning how to rebuild intimacy, communication, and connection when your coping mechanisms no longer match. If you’ve ever wondered how sobriety impacts a relationship, this one goes deep.

The Knowing Part 2 - Choosing freedom and choosing myself

Healing can be so f*cking uncomfortable. But finding your freedom is magical. Kirby chronicles the choices that ultimately led to the version of herself she's no longer ashamed of. The version that's no longer riddled with anxiety or sadness or dependency- on unhealthy relationships and substances. She shares intimate details of leaving a marriage with small children, finding her soulmate, going through the depths of quitting all the things and navigating love again through it all. This episode is the turning point. The moment I realized that in order to become the woman I knew I could be, I had to release the things that kept me stuck—alcohol, unhealthy relationships, and the versions of myself I had outgrown. Part Two of The Knowing is about reclaiming my power and choosing a life that finally felt like freedom.

The Knowing Part 1 - The alcohol addiction I was hiding from everyone but myself

Kirby reflects on her alcohol addiction as she nears 5 years of sobriety. She takes you through her late teens to her mid 30’s as she recalls memories that started out seemingly fun and escalated into desperation - the knowing of her inability to ever moderate becoming an adult anguish she needed to rectify. Relatable, funny and raw, the knowing represents that inner voice that never lies- no matter how hard you try to drown it out.

Whatever it Takes- Happier than yesterday

Whatever It Takes — the story behind 'Behind the Blonde'. In this opening episode, I share the journey that brought me here: Quitting drinking and facing the parts of myself I numbed for years… Walking through divorce and finding love again… Finding freedom in my body and my breathe and embracing my power Healing from eating disorders… Feeling lost, then choosing to build the life I once only dreamed of — a business, a blended family, an unapologetic voice. This podcast is for anyone who has ever looked at their life and thought, “I want something different… but I don’t know where to begin.” The truth? There is no magical finish line called “freedom.” But there are small, powerful choices we can make — one thought at a time, one choice at a time, one day at a time — that move us closer to who we’re becoming. If you’ve ever found yourself in the opposite place of where you want to be… this is your reminder that transformation is possible — and you are capable of doing whatever it takes. ✨
