F1 Academy is only in its fourth season, but it’s already developing into a much bigger motorsport and entertainment business. With Alisha Palmowski leading the 2026 championship, emerging drivers building their profiles, and major brands including LEGO, Sephora, Gatorade and Disney expanding their involvement, there’s a lot happening around the series.
In this episode, I look at how F1 Academy is growing its audience, the role of Formula 1 in supporting its development, and why individual drivers are becoming increasingly important to its commercial potential. With fanbase growth of 31% and live YouTube race viewing up 67% in 2025, the competition entered this season with meaningful momentum.
We also explore how different partnerships are contributing to that growth, from LEGO’s F1 Academy race car and Sephora’s driver sponsorship to Disney’s consumer products collaboration and newly announced documentary coming to Disney+.
But there’s another interesting challenge for F1 Academy. Unlike established sports leagues, its purpose is to help its most talented drivers progress into higher racing categories. That means developing new stars while keeping audiences connected to the competition and the athletes who graduate.
How far can F1 Academy grow its audience, sponsorships and consumer products business while continuing to develop the next generation of motorsport talent?

NETFLIX After Q3 Earnings: Why Peter Rice, Why Now?
Netflix just reported nearly $12.9 billion in Q3 revenue, up 12%, with operating income growing 37%. But alongside those strong financial results, the company is making some of its biggest content leadership changes in years.
Peter Rice is replacing Bela Bajaria as Chief Content Officer, while Dan Lin is also leaving the film division. The timing raises some interesting questions about Netflix’s next chapter, particularly as the company looks to accelerate audience engagement.
In this episode, I look at the global content business Bajaria helped build, what Rice’s experience at Fox Searchlight, FX and Disney could bring to Netflix, and why the film division may be the first place we see meaningful changes.
We also explore what the latest results tell us about audience behavior, including the growing importance of international programming, strong viewing momentum in India, and the difference between a successful opening week and a title that develops lasting audience interest.
KPop Demon Hunters offers a particularly interesting example of how music, fandom and consumer products can extend a film’s commercial potential beyond streaming.
With new leadership taking over, which creative relationships, film strategies and content decisions could change? And what should we be watching beyond the next quarterly earnings report?

KATSEYE is expanding well beyond music. With a No. 1 Billboard album, an international arena tour, documentaries on Netflix and Disney+, and collaborations with Gap, Target, Sanrio and Disney, the group is building a growing presence across entertainment and consumer products.
In this episode, I explore the business behind KATSEYE’s rapid growth, from physical album collecting and fan spending to touring, brand partnerships and licensing opportunities. I also look at how these different activities are helping HYBE and Geffen develop the group and what could drive its next phase of growth.
