Just Curious...
When was the last time curiosity led you somewhere unexpected? In this episode of BEING, Shea Love takes you on a day that started with a friendly game of badminton and ended with her on a New Zealand beach tasting fresh sea urchin cracked open by a Māori auntie. From the courts of North Harbour to the rocky shores of Browns Bay, this story is about the beauty of saying yes. Yes to the unfamiliar. Yes to other people’s traditions. Yes to the magic of cultural exchange. It’s playful, rich, and full of refreshers that growth happens when we open ourselves up to the world around us. From the moment those shimmering chords drop, you’re invited to leave what’s familiar and step into the unknown. “Come to see, victory / In a land called fantasy / Loving life, a new decree / Bring your mind to everlasting liberty” This song feels like curiosity. It’s bold. Uplifting. It dares you to imagine a world beyond what you know. And say yes. Whether you’re chasing shuttlecocks on a badminton court, tasting sea urchin for the first time, or just opening yourself to a new experience…this is your permission to dream wider and move freer. From Stuck to Starting
What’s one move you’ve been putting off that could change everything? In this New Year episode of BEING, Shea Love invites us to slow down. Instead of rushing from resolution to resolution, she invites us to enjoy a quiet, layered transformation that happens when we pause long enough to notice who we’ve actually become. Through the story of how her weekly ritual, The Growth Hour, sparked the move to New Zealand, she shares how one small, intentional action each week can change everything. If you’re ready to move from stuck to stretching, from dreaming to doing, this episode is your invitation to plant something new. Growth is a practice. And this year? It’s Your Growth Year. Moving straight from resolutions to routines. There seems to be a quiet pressure to leap forward before we’ve fully landed from where we’ve been. I’ve learned (again and again) that real changes rarely come from rushing. It comes from pause. From a single, honest step. So let me ask you something… What’s one move you’ve been putting off... that could change everything? Just one thing your spirit’s been whispering for a while now. It’s a reminder that even in seasons of doubt or delay, you are still rising. So whether you’re facing something hard, chasing something new, or just needing a moment to remember your strength…let this be your anthem. Play it loud and let it move you. Want more music? Grateful For...
Happy Thanksgiving! In this episode of BEING, Shea Love reflects on what it means to give thanks during seasons of change. From celebrating Thanksgiving in New Mexico (USA) to preparing for Christmas in Auckland, New Zealand, she explores the complexity of gratitude while acknowledging both the beauty and the uncomfortable truths behind the holiday. In the spirit of giving thanks, Shea Love invites listeners to slow down, name what they’re grateful for, and honor the joy that still exists — even in transition. This episode is a tender reminder that gratitude doesn’t erase what’s hard, it just reveals what’s still whole. Nature Girl
What’s the greatest thing you’ll ever learn? In this episode of BEING, I reflect on a timeless song, Nat King Cole’s “Nature Boy” and the truth tucked inside its final line: “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.” From bar conversations to unexpected confessions, I explore the ways we give and receive love — romantic, platonic, familial, and most importantly, self-love. What happens when we meet people who’ve never been in love? Or never been heartbroken? What does that say about how we protect our hearts…or open them? This is a soft look at the many faces of love and how it teaches us, stretches us, and sometimes surprises us in unexpected ways. Saying Yes
What Happens When You Say YES? In this episode of BEING, I say yes to something new…joining a Thursday morning run club in Auckland. What starts as a casual invitation turns into a deeper reflection on pace, presence, and permission. I discover how falling behind the group helped me find something more valuable than speed: my rhythm, my joy, my own path. This story isn’t really about running. It’s about saying yes even when we don’t have all the details, and learning to trust ourselves in the process. It’s about what happens when we stop trying to keep up and start showing up. Turns out saying yes is a doorway to something new. Light at the End of the Tunnel
Ever feel stuck in-between? In this episode, I take you into the Karangahake Gorge that became a powerful metaphor for navigating life’s transitions. A walk through a dark tunnel, walking through the unknown, mirrored exactly how I’ve been feeling since moving from Atlanta to Auckland: in-between who I was and who I’m becoming. Whether you’re in the midst of a job change, a relationship shift, a spiritual reawakening, or just a quiet season of “what’s next?”— this one’s for you. It’s the in-between.The hallway between chapters. The tunnel between what was and what’s becoming. It’s: * Between your old job and the one that lights you up * Between knowing and unknowing * Between being seen and learning to be okay being invisible for a while * Between the version of you that was, and the version that’s becoming And it’s not cozy. It can be uncomfortable. It stretches you.But it also shapes you. “This space. The Lightbulb Moment
Your Light What starts as a quiet weekend and a trip to Home Depot turns into something much deeper. From replacing a lightbulb to making the bold decision to move to New Zealand, I share the unexpected ways we reclaim our agency. Sometimes the smallest moments inspire the biggest shifts and in those moments we learn to trust our capacity to choose, even when the path is unfamiliar. Perhaps realizing that the real turning point comes when you uncover — you can pick whatever light you want. Choosing To Choose Agency is the sense of control we feel in our lives—the ability to influence our thoughts, our behaviors, our path. It’s the moment you stop waiting for permission and start trusting your own intuition. So if you’re standing in your own metaphorical aisle of lightbulbs right now…feeling overwhelmed by the options, uncertain about what to choose…I want to offer you this. You get to decide. You can pick whatever light you’d like. Thanks for listening! A Return To Familiar
What Does “Familiar” Feel Like ? After returning to Atlanta for a few weeks of rest, celebration, and reconnection — I found myself wrapped in the familiar. Family dinners, visits with friends, and reconnection over stories that felt like home. But one unexpected conversation at a local bar made me consider that familiarity isn’t always about a place…it’s a feeling. In this episode, I share an encounter that left a lasting impression. I realized that the most familiar parts of us don’t disappear when life changes instead they travel with us. The Beauty of Strangers
What if the stranger next to you wasn’t a coincidence, but a quiet invitation? In this episode, Shea Love shares two unexpected moments of connection with two strangers who offered her more than directions or conversation. They offered presence. Credits:This episode of BEING was brought to life with the support of:Ryan Fairweather, Audio EngineerDavid Oakes, Voice of DavidAnonymous, Voice of Tony David : The Stranger from Christchurch His name was David.Gentle. Curious. No agenda. We started talking while waiting to catch a flight from Auckland to Christchurch. He loved music. Stevie Wonder was one of his favorites. He pulled out his phone and shared his playlist without hesitation. That kind of openness? It moved me. Later at baggage claim, he found me again.“Jennifer, let me give you my number. If you’re free, join us for dinner while you’re in town.” After a long solo hike on the Godley Head Track, something in me shifted.Something said: Say yes. Tony : The Stranger from Melbourne His name was Tony .We started talking during intermission at a matinee play in Melbourne.70-something. Solo traveler. He pulled out his phone and shared photos from Antarctica to Africa. Captures of lions, icebergs, wild places most people never see. When the play ended, he stood up and smiled.“I’m headed toward Fitzroy Gardens…it’s on my way. Would you like to walk with me?”But Tony’s energy was grounded. Open. Kind. So I said yes. Thanks for listening! Sometimes, it’s the people we never expected. A David. A Tony. People who remind us what it means to be open, to connect, to receive. Planting Seeds. Growing Trees.
What if everything you do is planting a seed? In this episode of BEING, Shea Love explores how the small things (our words, thoughts, and choices) quietly shape and grow big things. From legacy trees in New Zealand to life lessons passed down through generations, this is a story about planting with intention…and trusting what grows. (Keep listening to the end…there’s a twist you won’t see coming.) Credits:This episode of BEING was brought to life with the support of:Ryan Fairweather, Audio EngineerParkes Long, Voice of DaughterFlorence Bowers, Voice of Mom Every Input is a Seed I used to walk past this phrase on a calendar in my Atlanta kitchen without much thought: “Planting Seeds. Growing Trees.”But now? It means everything. Because every word we speak, every choice we make, every belief we carry…it’s all a seed. And that seed, grows something. The question is: What are you planting? Books That Plant Something in Me (And maybe in you, too) Before I left for New Zealand, I stood in my living room surrounded by stacks of books. I knew I couldn’t take them all. So I asked myself:What do I want growing in me while I’m planting new roots in a new land? Here are three I brought with me, hoping they’d guide me in this unfamiliar soil. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz Seed it planted: Integrity. Simplicity. Self-responsibility. I packed this one as a compass. In the swirl of newness (new people, new rhythms, new land) I needed something that grounded me in who I am. Be impeccable with your word.Don’t take anything personally.Don’t make assumptions.Always do your best. These weren’t just affirmations, they became anchors. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho Seed it planted: Trust the journey. The signs are everywhere. I reread this every year. But this time, it hit differently. Because this time, I was on the journey. Literally. The dream that had lived quietly in me for years was becoming real. “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” It reminded me that your Personal Legend is never lost. You just have to keep listening for the signs. Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler Seed it planted: Vision. Survival. Faith in action. This one gripped me. A fictional story, but eerily timely. Climate change. Economic collapse. A young girl crafting a belief system to help herself and others survive. I was so deep in it, I hadn’t realized the title was biblical until a man in the airport leaned over and said: “You know that’s from Matthew 13, right?” And just like that… another seed. Some seeds fall on rocky soil. Some among thorns. But some fall on good soil and grow a harvest beyond what we can see. Thanks for listening! You’re planting something sacred. Every small, quiet move you make in the direction of your truth, it’s a seed. And one day, without warning, you’ll look up and see:That seed became a tree. Leap + Loneliness
After the excitement of a big leap, Shea Love finds herself facing something harder to navigate: loneliness. In this episode, she shares how two quiet moments on the streets of Auckland taught her that sometimes the road less traveled leads you deeper into connection…and back to yourself. Credits:This episode of BEING was brought to life with the support of:Ryan Fairweather, Audio EngineerDr. Dave Montgomery, Expert + Host of Health Mastery Cafe ✨ What if Loneliness is an Invitation? What if loneliness is more than just absence? What if it’s a doorway to presence? For me, it’s been an unexpected teacher. In the stillness, I’ve heard things I once drowned out.In the quiet, I’ve come home to parts of myself I forgot I needed.Loneliness showed me where connection really begins within. It reminded me that being alone doesn’t always mean being without. It can mean being available…to listen, to receive, to BE. 💛 Thanks for listening! This is the season after the leap. It’s tender. It’s honest. And it’s not a sign that you’re off track. In fact, it’s often the most sacred part of the journey. If you’re here, reading this, feeling the edges of that quiet ache…just know: you’re not alone. You are becoming. And I’m right here with you. When The Next Step Finds You
What if the way forward isn’t something you see? In this episode of BEING, I share a powerful, real-life encounter that brought the meaning of “walking by faith and not by sight” to life…literally. What started as a simple detour on the way to Atlanta City Hall became a sacred lesson in trust, surrender, and alignment. Through an unexpected meeting with a stranger…I discover what it truly means to release, follow divine guidance, and deeply believe that the next steps will find you when you're ready.
