Resist: Saying No So We Can Say Yes // Nehemiah 4:6-23 and 6:1-4
Spiritual Building in a Distracted World. 🗓️ 25 October 2026. 🎙️ Speaker: Linnah Hahn.
Halfway up the wall, Nehemiah’s builders are worn out and their neighbours keep warning of an attack. Linnah sees our own distractions in that opposition, including media built to keep us hooked. Nehemiah prayed and posted a guard, and when he was invited away from the work, his answer was always no. Linnah asks what we need to say no to so we can say yes to what matters, knowing God is our help.

New in Christ // National Baptism Week (Romans 6:3–14)
🗓️ 18 October 2026. 🎙️ Speaker: Sam Delfs
On a Sunday when hundreds of people across Australia were baptised, including four in our own community, Sam unpacks what is actually happening when someone goes down into the water and comes back up. Drawing on Romans 6, he describes baptism as a public declaration that our old self has been buried with Christ and raised to something new. We're baptised into a new hope, a new life, a new family and a new mission. It's not about becoming perfect overnight. Grace breaks sin's hold on us and gives us the power to choose a different way, and Sam invites every listener to ask whether they have trusted their whole life to Jesus. The podcast ends with a testimony from Conan, and his Baptism!

Rebuilding with Purpose // Nehemiah 2-3
Spiritual Building in a Distracted World. 🗓️ 11 October 2026. 🎙️ Speaker: Nic Cassar.
When the king notices Nehemiah is grieving over Jerusalem, Nehemiah tells him the truth, and that risky answer opens the way home. Rather than rushing in, he quietly inspects the broken walls at night before calling everyone to rebuild together, from priests and goldsmiths to perfume makers and neighbours. Nic looks at how God works in unexpected places, including Nehemiah's workplace. He also explains why faithfulness needs time to stop and reflect as well as action, and how the whole project depends on "the gracious hand of my God". Reading the story through Jesus, who is rebuilding the whole world one living stone at a time, Nic asks what we're building and who we're building it with. As we begin the Digital Fast, it's also an invitation to replace some of our scrolling with habits that help us grow.
