Ilaria Crociani (https://www.facebook.com/ilaria.crociani.12/) and Mirko Guerrini (https://mirkoguerrini.com/) visited the Bent Notes studio to chat about their HYPERBAROQ (https://hyperbaroq.com/) project, created with Guitarist Stephen Magnusson (https://stephenmagnusson.bandcamp.com/).
Ilaria, Mirko and Stephen approach the music sourced from the Baroque period from a modern perspective, using the chords and melodies of the orignial music to develop their own modern takes.
Hear Ilaria chat also about the importance of seeking a quiet and meditative time to pursue her muses; and Mirko note the importance of Sight Reading in today’s music world.
Their Project HYPERBAROQ are launching their debut album – TRIPUDIIS SONIS VARIIS (https://hyperbaroq.bandcamp.com/album/tripudiis-sonis-variis-a-jubilation-of-sounds), on Sunday October 18, 2026 at the Jazzlab (https://thejazzlab.com.au/event/hyperbaroque/) as part of this year’s Melbourne International Jazz Festival (https://www.melbournejazz.com/program?fwp_filter_search=hyperbaroq).
