When life feels like rowing against the wind with no progress in sight, it can be easy to wonder if God notices. In Mark 6, Jesus sees His disciples straining at the oars in the dark, miles from shore, and He comes to them walking on the water. His presence alone calms the storm. Just as He saw the disciples in their exhaustion and fear, He sees you in yours. He does not need to be informed about your struggles. He already knows, and He is already on His way. No matter how hard the rowing gets, Jesus always gets in the boat.

The Good Sheperd
The feeding of the 5,000 is the only miracle recorded in all four Gospels, and that alone should make us pay close attention. Before the miracle even happened, Jesus saw the exhaustion of His disciples and invited them to rest, revealing that He is a Shepherd who cares about our limits. When the crowds interrupted that rest, His first response was not to feed them physically but to teach them, because He understood that the soul's need is greater than the stomach's. He then took five loaves and two fish, blessed them, and fed thousands, involving His disciples in the miracle so their faith would grow alongside the crowd's full bellies. The detail of green grass in Mark's account quietly echoes Psalm 23, pointing to Jesus as the Good Shepherd who prepares a table in a desolate place. In John 6, Jesus makes it plain: He is the Bread of Life, and no one who comes to Him will ever go hungry. Every counterfeit we turn to for satisfaction will eventually leave us empty, because we were made for something only He can provide. Bring what little you have, trust Him with it, and watch what He does.

The Meaning of Eternal Life
Most people imagine heaven as a place where every physical desire is finally and perfectly satisfied. But physical pleasure fades the moment it is fulfilled, which means that vision of paradise cannot hold up under eternity. The only One who has existed eternally without growing bored or losing joy is God Himself, and He has revealed the answer. God is love, and because love requires more than one, the Trinity shows us a God who has existed in perfect, self-giving relationship from before the beginning of time. Heaven is not simply a location. It is a condition of the heart, a community of people who have learned to love others more than themselves. Love is the only thing that does not run out when it is shared, and it is the only thing that can truly fill eternity.
