Conversations in the raw, exploring deep questions about life and faith.
17 Intentional Discipleship Doesn't Happen By Accident
In this conversation with members of the Discipleship Learning Community (DLC), Tim, Will & friends explore the power of shared connection, mutual care, and the people who walk alongside us on the journey of faith. We talk about practical discipling tools, the importance of making time for others, and why young people are searching for community in places beyond the church.
Along the way, we consider what it means to be a cheerleader for someone else’s growth, create spaces where people feel safe enough to belong, and pair natural investment in people’s lives with meaningful invitations to go deeper.
Because discipleship isn’t simply an invitation to attend an event. It’s an invitation into a way of life, one shaped by shared experiences, everyday practices, and people willing to walk the road together.

16 Making Space for Belonging
In this episode of the Between Sundays Podcast, Beth, Tim, and Will dig into the second movement of the SEED discipleship framework: Engage. If Seek is about paying attention and becoming curious about what God is already doing, Engage asks what happens when we step into the conversation, the relationship, and moments of change.
Joining the conversation is Dr. Tim Morrison, bringing his experience and perspective to the question of what meaningful engagement looks like in ministry and in everyday life, asking a deeper question: How do we create spaces that invite people into belonging?
The conversation explores the role of authentic small-group relationships, the hunger for spaces where people can be known and seen, and whether authenticity might be one of the missing pieces in how we think about community and discipleship.
SEED: Seek. Engage. Equip. Deploy.

15: Words and Practice
In this episode of Between Sundays, Tim, Beth and Will talk again with Rev. Ed Fashbaugh. In this conversation they explore the idea that every believer is part of God’s movement and everyone has a role to play. Calling is not reserved for clergy or a select few. It is about recognizing the gifts, purpose, and opportunities God has placed in each of us and learning how to live them out in our own context.
They talk about building confidence, finding a common language for calling, and creating space for both clergy and laity to embrace the part they have to play. Because the question is not whether you are called, but what it looks like to live into that calling where you are. Part two of two with Rev. Ed Fashbaugh.

14 Resilience and Sustainability
In this episode of Between Sundays, Tim, Beth and Will sit down with Rev. Ed Fashbaugh for a conversation about resilience and sustainability in ministry and everyday life. They talk about the importance of community, growing in self-awareness, and finding healthy ways to release the stress we all carry.
Ed also shares his “Top 3” areas of focus: creating pathways into ministry, cultivating overall personal wellness, and building sustainable practices for clergy and laity.
Because following Jesus is a lifelong journey, and sustainable discipleship requires more than simply pushing through. We need healthy rhythms, honest reflection, meaningful community, and space to become the people God is calling us to be.
Part One of Two.

13 Don’t Be Weird About It
What does it actually mean to create space for honest, authentic conversations with youth and young adults?
In this continuing conversation, Beth, Tim, and Will are joined by Dr. Tim Morrison, Chaplain at the University of Mount Union, to explore what happens when we stop trying so hard to connect with young people and simply become more present with them.
We talk about the importance of safe spaces for intergenerational conversation, the power of invitation, and why curiosity may be one of the most important tools we have. We share stories, talk about the temptation to “be cool,” and consider what happens when we become comfortable with a little tension.
Because tension isn’t necessarily a problem to solve. Sometimes, it is simply the first step toward being present.
You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to understand everything. You don’t have to pretend to be someone you’re not.
Don’t be weird about it. Be curious. Be present.

Between Sundays Podcast - 07 Choosing Joy
In this conversation about JOY - we get distracted while talking about TGIF, the 90’s era must watch TV viewing for kids and families.
Beth, Tim and Producer Brett are joined guest Jennifer Dyer, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, Montrose Zion UMC as well as podcast regular, Will Fenton-Jones, Director of Multicultural Ministries.
As the conversation continues, we wrestle with what it means to choose joy in everyday life. Is happiness the same as joy, or is joy something deeper — a posture of being rooted in God that remains even when circumstances shift? Together, we explore how the Fruits of the Spirit shape our everyday practices, how our identity influences the way we experience joy, and how God’s prevenient grace is constantly at work, often before we even recognize it, forming within us a joy that isn’t dependent on what happens around us but on who we are becoming in Christ.
