In this episode, I’m talking about the pull of overconsumption culture and what Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:19–24 about where we place our treasure, our attention, and ultimately our hearts. What if we stopped chasing more and started recognizing that we already have enough?

Experiencing the Awe of God Through Nature
In this episode, I’m reflecting on experiencing the awe of God through nature and the beauty of His creation. We’ll look at how Jesus intentionally withdrew to the mountainside to pray and rest and what His example teaches us about slowing down, finding stillness, and making space for God.

God Can Do A Lot in 5 Minutes
You may think you don’t have enough time to spend with God, but God doesn’t need hours to speak, reveal, convict, encourage, or move. Give Him what you have—even five minutes—and let Him show you what He can do with it.

We Are All Adam & Eve
Genesis 3 shows us what happens when sin leaves us spiritually naked—exposed, ashamed, and tempted to hide from the very God we should be running to. In this episode, we look at Eve with a little more grace and recognize something uncomfortable: we are all Adam and Eve. We’ve all experienced the pull to hide from God when what He’s really inviting us to do is come out of hiding and return to Him.

Busyness Does Not Equal Obedience
In this episode, we're talking about the importance of stillness. While God sometimes calls us to step out in faith and take action, there are also seasons when His only invitation is to slow down, be still, and trust Him. We'll explore why rest is just as much an act of obedience as movement and how learning to quiet our hearts allows us to hear God's voice more clearly.

Contentment Begins with the Shepherd
Psalm 23 opens with one of the most familiar verses in Scripture: "The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing." But do we really live like we believe it?
In this episode, we explore what it means to trust the Good Shepherd and why contentment isn't something we find after we get the promotion, relationship, healing, or dream we've been praying for. If we can't receive God faithfully in the present, we'll keep moving the finish line and believe the next thing will finally satisfy us.
Join me as we walk through Psalm 23:1 and discover how true contentment begins. Not with what we have, but with who leads us.

Remember His Benefits | Psalm 103:1–5
What do you do when worship feels difficult?
In this episode of Between the Word and I, we walk through Psalm 103:1–5 and discover that worship isn't merely a feeling—it's a command. Even in seasons of disappointment, grief, or uncertainty, choosing to bless the Lord becomes an act of trust that glorifies God and confuses the enemy.
Together, we'll reflect on David's call to "forget not all His benefits," learning why remembering God's faithfulness strengthens us for today's battles. We'll also explore the imagery of the eagle and how seasons of renewal often require a season of shedding. Just as an eagle molts before it can soar with renewed strength, God often uses seasons of pruning, waiting, and refinement to prepare us for what lies ahead.

Performative Virtue: David & Bathsheba
In 2 Samuel 11, we read one of the most heartbreaking accounts in Scripture: David, a man after God's own heart, sees Bathsheba, desires her, commits adultery, and then spends the rest of the chapter trying to cover up what he's done. What began with a lingering look quickly spiraled into deception, manipulation, and ultimately murder.
This episode explores a difficult but necessary truth: sin never stays contained. Left unchecked, it grows. One compromise often leads to another, and before we know it, we're protecting the very thing that's destroying us.

God Never Created a Sin Pyramid
We often treat sin like it belongs on a pyramid—ranking some offenses as worse than others while quietly excusing the ones we struggle with ourselves. But is that how Jesus sees it?
In this episode, we dive into the powerful story of the woman who anointed Jesus' feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair, and poured expensive perfume over them in Luke 7. Through Jesus' conversation with Simon the Pharisee and the parable of the two debtors, we uncover a sobering truth: self-righteousness can be just as dangerous as the sins we so quickly point out in others.
Join me as we discuss why Christians must guard against a "holier-than-thou" mindset, how grace levels the ground at the foot of the cross, and why remembering the depth of our own forgiveness changes the way we view others.
Because when we truly understand the mercy we've received, judgment gives way to compassion, humility, and love.

The Itch That Shouldn’t Be Scratched: Sexual Immorality
In this episode, we have an honest conversation about sexual immorality, temptation, and the spiritual consequences of constantly feeding desires that were never meant to rule us. Sin promises satisfaction, but like an itch that only gets worse the more it’s scratched, it leaves us emptier, desensitized, and craving more.
We dive into the story of Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and what it reveals about unchecked lust, moral compromise, and the danger of becoming numb to conviction. What starts as small compromises can slowly distort our hearts, cloud our minds, and leave the temple God created in complete disorder.
This episode is not about shame — it’s about awareness, repentance, healing, and returning to holiness in a culture that constantly tells us to indulge every desire. If you’ve ever struggled with temptation, felt spiritually drained, or wondered why certain habits leave you feeling empty, this conversation is for you.

Bleeding, Waiting, Believing: Faith in Chronic Illness
In this episode, we walk through Mark 5:21–42 — the stories of Jairus, his dying daughter, and the woman who suffered for 12 years with the issue of blood.
Both stories reveal something deeper than just physical healing. They show us what it looks like to trust God in the waiting, in the interruptions, and in the moments when healing feels delayed… or doesn’t come the way we hoped.
As someone living with chronic illness, I reflect on how these stories mirror the reality many of us face. A journey that is messy, exhausting, and often filled with unanswered prayers. Healing isn’t always immediate, and sometimes it’s not promised in this life at all.
But this episode is a reminder: we cannot idolize healing and forget the Healer.
Jesus meets us in the middle of our suffering, honors our faith, and reminds us that restoration is bigger than what we can see. Whether healing comes now or in eternity, our hope is anchored in Him.

We Teach People to Serve But Not to Sabbath
This episode dives into the importance of the Sabbath and the way we've lost the ability to truly rest. In a culture that glorifies busyness and constant productivity, many of us (myself included) struggle to slow down and honor the rhythm God designed from the very beginning.
Through scripture, we'll explore how rest is not just a suggestion, but an act of obedience and worship. Looking at 1 Corinthians 10:31, Genesis 2:1-3, Deuteronomy 5:12-14, and Isaiah 58:13-14, this conversation challenges us to rethink how we approach our time, our priorities, and our relationship with God.

Forgiveness is Not Optional
Unforgiveness doesn’t stay contained. It spreads.
In this episode, we confront what scripture actually says about forgiveness through Philemon and Matthew 6:14–15 and 18:21–22. It’s not just about “letting things go,” it’s about obedience, humility, and reflecting the mercy we’ve already been given.
Unforgiveness will take root in your heart and begin to affect your relationships, your peace, and even your intimacy with God. The longer it goes unaddressed, the deeper it grows. And while we often justify holding on to hurt, Jesus makes it clear: forgiveness is not optional for those who have been forgiven.
This episode challenges us to stop excusing it, stop avoiding it, and start dealing with it. Because the freedom you’re praying for may be on the other side of the forgiveness you’re resisting.
I also open up about my own journey and how I held onto unforgiveness for years towards people who said they loved me but took advantage of my vulnerability. We go there in this episode...so come ready.

God, I'm too young...
“God, I’m too young.” “God, I’m too old.”
In this episode, we dive into Jeremiah 1 and confront the excuses we make when God calls us into something bigger than ourselves. We talk about how we often tie spiritual readiness to age, instead of obedience, and how God isn’t limited by where you are in life.
If you’ve ever felt unqualified, this episode is your reminder: God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called.

How Important is The Gospel to You?
How important is the Gospel to you—really?
In this episode, we reflect on 2 Timothy 1 and the call to live boldly in faith. We talk about what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus, not just a borrowed one, and why the Holy Spirit should be our first source of guidance, truth, and understanding.
This conversation challenges you to examine your faith, your dependence, and the role the Gospel truly plays in your everyday life.

Who Will Be Your Judge?
In this episode, we dive into Judges 1–2 and the powerful lessons hidden within Israel’s repeated disobedience. Just like the Israelites, we often hold on to things and people God has already called us to release. But what if letting go isn’t about loss, but protection?
If you’ve ever struggled with letting go, feeling torn between obedience and comfort, or seeking validation from the wrong places, this episode is for you.
