William F. Buckley’s Cure for Political Hatred
On this episode of the Beyond Barriers podcast, former National Socialist Movement leader turned anti-extremism advocate Jeff Schoep sits down with author and columnist Josh Cohen to discuss Cohen’s book, William F. Buckley Jr.'s Guide to Friendship in a Polarized Era.
The conversation explores how William F. Buckley Jr. cultivated meaningful friendships with ideological opponents during one of the most politically turbulent periods in modern American history and what those relationships can teach a deeply fractured society today.
Cohen examines Buckley’s views on decency, forgiveness, humor, faith, tribalism, and intellectual seriousness, arguing that Buckley offered an antidote to the nihilism and hyper-polarization defining contemporary culture.

Walking Away From Hate: 2 Stories, 1 Conversation
In this episode of #BeyondBarriers, we sit down for a real, #unfilteredconversation about leaving the white power movement & coming from two very different paths.
We read excerpts from our books, reflect on what it took to face our pasts, and talk about the weight that comes with telling the #truth out loud. Writing these stories wasn’t easy. Living them was harder.
This conversation goes beyond headlines and assumptions. It’s about #accountability, #identity, #healing, and what it actually looks like to walk away from something that once defined your life.
