Omnipod 5 is now even stronger with enhancements designed for more time in range1 and more time in Automated Mode. In this episode, we break down what they are and what they look like in practice. Hosts Dena Gottesman MS, RD, CDCES and Nancy Hanna RN, BSN, CDE are joined by Dr. Nader Kassam, a pediatric endocrinologist at Corewell Health living with type 1 diabetes, to explore the latest updates coming to Omnipod 5. Dr. Kassam shares his firsthand experience as a participant of the Limited Market Release of this product.  He shares how the new 100 mg/dL Target Glucose setting increases the algorithm’s response to rising glucose levels to help him spend more time in range1  and how these enhancements can help keep users in Automated Mode longer. The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor integration results in more personalized care and more real-time glucose monitoring data for caregivers with the LibreLinkUp app.  1. In a simulated analysis, the 100 mg/dL Target Glucose (TG) setting demonstrated superior Time in Range (70-180 mg/dL) compared with results at the 110-150 mg/dL TG settings in a real-world population of people with T1D using Omnipod 5.
