A Course in Miracles & Jungian Psychology: Healing Family Ties
A Course in Miracles tells us there are no accidents in salvation. Our family of origin isn't, therefore, a random constellation.
In this episode we explore the above with a reading of ‘Family Ties,’ taken from The Bridge of Return: A Course in Miracles as a Western Yoga, by Stephanie Panayi.
Our discussion incorporates Jungian theory, astrology and Course principles as we explore how our earliest relationships provide a powerful means for integrating key aspects of our personality alongside our spiritual Self, leading to a sense of dignity and gentle authority.

Anxiety and its Defences: ACIM and Psychological Perspectives
A Course in Miracles tells us that defenses ‘are the costliest of all the prices which the ego would exact’ (W-153.4:1). Yet we often don’t realise when we are being defensive, engaging in plans to protect ourselves from insecurities based on shame and guilt. In this podcast we explore the main types of defenses to anxiety outlined in Freudian psychology, along with pioneering psychoanalyst Karen Horney’s ‘Defensive Solutions.’ The discussion is based on the essay ‘Seeing the Problem as It Is: Karen Horney’s Defensive Solutions,’ taken from Alchemists of Suburbia: A Course in Miracles, Psychology, and the Art of Integration. We conclude with some of Carl Jung’s last documented thoughts and apply them to Horney’s insights. The emphasis, as always, is on how to move forward, leaving the past and associated grievances behind, transformed in the light of the Holy Spirit’s healing vision. Taking a Stand: A Commentary on ACIM Lesson 98
Workbook Lesson 98 in A Course in Miracles calls on us to "take a stand" between truth and illusions. American philosopher and psychologist William James likewise spoke of taking a stand regarding our authentic self. We begin this podcast with a reading from Principles of Psychology by James, drawing an analogy between the psychological and spiritual stands we are called to make along life's journey.
