My name is Ethan Girasia, I’m a BJJ Blue belt and love the sport, along with watching MMA.
Join me as I look to interview various BJJ athletes and MMA fighters, and really get an in depth look at their lives on and off the mats!
Vinny Morelli, a 20 year old purple belt bjj competitor from Morelli Martial Arts in Wilmington, North Carolina, recently won the Copperheads PGF qualifier at 145 pounds. He discusses his eco approach to training, his experience at the Toro Cup, and his philosophy of prioritizing student development over belt promotions.
We also talked all about competitions, mindset and a little bit about our takes on the old Gi vs Nogi debate.

Colorado Wolverines Owner - David “Egghead” Segraves
In this episode we talk with Colorado Wolverines PGF team Owner, David “Egghead” Segraves!
We talk all about the team’s recent success and future plans. Egghead also discusses the team’s partnership with BJJ Wholesale, the addition of coach Jonathan Wilson, and the team’s goal of inspiring young athletes. He also reflects on his time as a PGF commentator and the transition to team ownership.
The Colorado Wolverines faced adversity in the first two weeks of the season, with injuries and pressure impacting performance. However, the team’s camaraderie and determination led to a comeback, in a pivotal moment when Caleb Crump secured a submission victory. The upcoming season 10 will feature a new format with 5 free agent signings and a draft, allowing for a diverse range of body types and grappling styles.
The next Wolverines PGF qualifier will be held on November 7th and 8th, with the first day dedicated to youth competitors and the second day for adults. The event will feature multiple mats and brackets, including women’s divisions and opportunities for blue belts. The goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all competitors, fostering a sense of community and encouraging participation in professional jiujitsu.
