A podcast that examines the Bible and its importance for the Christian faith. From Riverlife Church in Brisbane, Australia, hosts Jo, Alex and Chris take their love of the Bible and unpack it each episode, sometimes with the help of guest Biblical scholars. Sometimes taking a bird's eye view, sometimes getting into the nitty gritty, but always trying to get to know the author better, and to better know His plans for us and the invitation He's given us to life in Him.
To Rome With Love! The Letter to the Romans: Chapter 12
“Therefore, in view of God’s mercy…” Romans 12 is where eleven chapters of theology turn into a way of life. This episode looks at what it means to present your whole self as a living sacrifice, why Paul calls it “reasonable” worship, and how a renewed mind resists being squeezed into the pattern of this age. It then works through humility and the measure of faith, the body with its many gifts, and Paul’s run of short commands, ending with his radical call to bless persecutors, feed enemies and overcome evil with good.

To Rome With Love! The Letter to the Romans: Chapter 11
Romans 11 brings Paul’s long reflection on Israel in chapters 9–11 to its close, with an answer to the question it has been circling: has God rejected his people? “By no means.” This episode works through Elijah and the remnant chosen by grace, the hard words about hardening, the olive tree with its broken and grafted branches, and the “mystery” that “all Israel will be saved”. It ends where Paul does, in a doxology of wonder at the depth of God’s wisdom and mercy, which sets up the turn to chapter 12.

Greek Club: Romans 1:8–15
The second episode of Greek Club moves past Paul's long opening sentence into his thanksgiving and his longing to visit Rome. Working through verses 8–15, it covers Paul's ongoing thanks for a faith "being proclaimed in the whole world", his unceasing prayers, his hope to impart a spiritual gift, and his sense of being a debtor to Greeks and barbarians alike. It ends with Paul's eagerness to preach the gospel in Rome. Along the way, listeners meet the present tense, the passive voice, infinitives, the subjunctive and some of Greek's small but busy connecting words.
