About Bible Wisdom Today

Welcome to Bible Wisdom Today, a verse-by-verse audio journey designed to help you bridge the ancient world and your everyday life. If you have ever wondered how texts written millennia ago in foreign languages and alien cultures still speak to us today, you are in the right place. About the show The Bible was never meant to be read as a modern instruction manual; it is a rich tapestry of ancient literature, history, and theology. In each episode, we slow down to examine the literary structures, historical contexts, and profound theological depths of scripture—whether we are unpacking the early chapters of Genesis (Season 2 (https://www.biblewisdomtoday.com/episodes/season/2/)), tracing the footsteps of Jesus through the Gospel of Mark (Season 1 (https://www.biblewisdomtoday.com/episodes/season/1/)), or examining an ancient prayer of Moses (https://www.biblewisdomtoday.com/how-to-live-a-worthy-life-psalm-90/). We tackle the tough questions head-on, offering systematic Bible teaching for anyone willing to think deeply about their faith, navigate complex crises, and discover timeless truth for modern living. What you'll discover How to decode the hidden structural symmetry ancient writers used to mark the most important point of a narrative (https://www.biblewisdomtoday.com/marked-at-the-middle-when-god-reorders-your-identity-and-guarantees-your-future-genesis-17/) Practical wisdom for persevering through prolonged seasons of silence and the heavy weight of waiting for God (https://www.biblewisdomtoday.com/the-weight-of-waiting-for-god-genesis-15-16/) Faithful frameworks for making high-stakes, life-altering decisions under intense pressure (https://www.biblewisdomtoday.com/how-to-make-a-wise-crisis-decision-genesis-13-14/) Fresh perspectives on familiar narratives, such as looking past the architecture to understand the true heart problem behind the Tower of Babel (https://www.biblewisdomtoday.com/revisiting-babel-genesis-10-11/) The rich theological significance hidden inside seemingly boring biblical genealogies and lists (https://www.biblewisdomtoday.com/more-than-a-list-the-hidden-wisdom-of-genesis-5/) Who this podcast is for This podcast is for the curious Christian, the thoughtful seeker, and anyone who refuses to settle for superficial answers. Relentless Grace: When God Refuses to Take 'No' for an Answer (Genesis 25-26)

Did you ever consider crime drama to be a sermon? I often do. No matter what the plot line, I come away with the same conclusion: there is no end to the ways that we can screw up our lives. In that sense, crime dramas are modern day retellings of the stories of Genesis. This tension between human rebellion and divine grace drives the story of the B...

   God's Faithful Unseen Hand | Genesis 24

In our fast-paced, modern lives, we often want God to act in unmistakable ways with dramatic wonders, but what if God’s care for us is more often seen in the quiet, ordinary routines of daily life. Would we miss His faithful care? In our Bible story today, our storyteller crafts his tale to make this specific point. Even the ordinary events of life are under God’s watchful eye. Unshakable: When Grief Meets Promise | Genesis 23

What do you do when the worst day of your life collides with the grandest promises of God? In this episode, we step into the quiet vacuum of a devastating loss and sit in the mourning tent with Abraham. After losing Sarah—his partner in a decades-long adventure of faith—Abraham faces a defining moment. He is a wealthy but landless nomad, grieving the only woman in Scripture whose exact lifespan is immortalized on the page. Yet, what he does next at the local city gate writes a new script on h...
