   Don't Let These Resurrection Myths Shake Your Faith

   This episode examines the skeptic’s eight theories of the resurrection and the evidence they can’t explain. They include: Contradictory resurrection accounts Disciples going to the wrong tomb. Disciples stealing Jesus' body. Authorities stealing Jesus’ body. The Swoon Theory Jesus' appearances were hallucinations. The resurrection as a myth Post-resurrection sightings of Jesus were mistaken identification. The resurrection of Jesus is the heartbeat of Christianity. But what do you do when someone claims the Gospel stories clash? Maybe they say the disciples visited the wrong tomb, Jesus only fainted, or His followers took the body. Questions like these can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re new to the faith. But there’s no need to panic or shy away from them. Dr. Bob Martin (Pops) examines five common objections to Jesus’ resurrection and explains why they cannot explain the historical claims surrounding the empty tomb and the disciples' experiences.    The crucifixion wasn’t the end; these facts changed everything. Is there evidence for Jesus’ resurrection? How can Christians answer skepticism without getting defensive or emotional? In this Popscast, Dr. Bob Martin shares several important historical facts about Jesus’ death and resurrection. He uses insights from Dr. Gary Habermas’ book, The Historical Jesus: Ancient Evidence for the Life of Christ, to support the case for the resurrection. He starts by looking at Jesus’ death by Roman crucifixion and burial. Next, he explores how the disciples went from despair after Jesus’ death to boldly proclaiming that they had seen Him alive. And they preached this message in Jerusalem, where Jesus was crucified and buried. Pops also talks about how the early church grew and highlights two remarkable conversions. James, Jesus’ half-brother, did not believe in Him during His life, but later became a believer and a leader in the Jerusalem church. Paul went from opposing Christians to becoming one of Christianity’s greatest missionaries. These facts offer strong historical evidence that is worth looking into.
