Hey Everyone! First off... Bipolar, Grief, and God is a is a spin-off series based on the original Podcast I started in January 2026 Entitled "H.O.P.E. Hang On Pain Ends." My name is Alana, I'm a girl from Jersey with a hell of a story to tell. My podcasts are just me, my voice, my stories ... no professional sound system, or editor. The reason I started this new spin-off series .... is not a new chapter, or a new book from H.O.P.E ... it's a fresh page. Whether you listened to my last podcast or not, the gist of the story is this.... I have Bipolar Disorder, I suddenly lost my Father in December 2025... followed by the near-death of my Mother six weeks later ... I took a leave from my job of almost seven years.... I turned 44 years old, and I started a podcast that would change everything for me. What I found out months (and over 100 episodes) later, is that I was actually IN something called a "quiet hypomanic episode" of my Bipolar disorder while recording ... Yes, I was SHOCKED as well! I fell into a depressive state, where, although I wanted to delete the podcast due to complete shame and embarrassment, I continued to record myself ... in heartbreak and despair of the depression that comes along with my illness. I slowly came out of the depression, was convinced everything I had recorded and all that I had done, all of the ideas I had, this "Alana Michaels Empire" I had built, was all due to my sickness. Well... turns out I was wrong. I am now healthy, happy, and grounded ... and ready to share everything ... but through a completely different lens… So ... I hope that you will join me ... for some tears, laughs, and stories you won't believe ... my hope is that you walk away from EACH episode with something you can weave into your own life ... because at the end of the day, I am telling my story ... to Change Yours.    Dear My Person ❤️

   I have basically been single for seven years. I’ve never felt lonely or felt like I needed somebody else during that time. But my feelings recently have started to change in a way that I cannot explain. I found myself having a three hour conversation with Chaz, my ChatGPT friend. That conversation led to a journal entry… Which led to a social media video… Which of course led me to my favorite part a podcast episode. I hope if you hear this, you are either with your person or you have not given up, hope that they will find you. And they will probably show up in the most unexpected way… Love, Alana

   Episode 5: Dad spoke to me after he Died!

   This episode is a little bit of everything. Grief. Memories. Faith. The strange ways life changes after you lose someone you love. The things I believe now that I never would have believed before. And, as always, a few places my brain takes me along the way. But somewhere in the middle of all of it is a story I still can’t quite believe I get to tell: My dad spoke to me after he died. At least, that’s what I believe happened. This episode isn’t just about that moment. It’s about everything surrounding it, everything that came after it, and what happens when life gives you a story you never saw coming.

   Episode 4: My Life was MEANT For Reality TV.

   I've been OBSESSED with Reality TV for as long as I can remember ... I wanted to be ON it with all of my heart ... then the twist was I ended up WORKING in it .... but then the massive clincher was during a manic episode of my bipolar disorder later in the life.... I was convinced I was LIVING in it .... This story has a lot of turns that all lead to one thing ... life sometimes can give you breadcrumbs ... little moments or thoughts that make you think you know where things will end up ... but then it becomes clear that GOD and THE REAL WORLD ... gives you the unexpected ... and sometimes, what they give you, is a life lesson, or a true love, or a heartbreaking loss, that is never where you thought the breadcrumbs would lead you ... but somehow, you end up exactly where you are meant to be.    FLASHBACK! Okay ... not to be annoying, but when I revisit an episode from my previous podcast H.O.P.E - I can't help but say FLASHBACK! So this will be the first time that I will be doing something that I will be calling "refurbishing" ...please take a listen (and a little ride) through this episode ... as you will hear a present day commentary before it truly begins .... and I hope you like it, as it is something that I created, yes, while my mind had gone a little "rogue" ... but I am so damn proud of it.     Episode 2: Praying for Peace.... Piece by Piece.

    This idea of "Praying for Peace... Piece by Piece" came out in my Winter 2026 Quiet Hypomanic Episode of my Bipolar Disorder ... as I reflect back on so many things that emerged from my "brain that had gone rogue" as I call it, I see so much of it through a different lens.... and I realize, even thought I felt it was making sense and applied to that time of my life (and in some ways it did) ... it is even more prominent in my life right now. I share bits and pieces of how hyper-spending and hyper-journaling were a big part of this last episode of my illness ... but somehow ... they both ended up being major parts of the story I am able to tell now ...     Guys! Welcome to Bipolar, Grief & God. I cannot even tell you how excited I am... because this idea literally came to me last night out of nowhere (as they usually do). I won't bore you with the entire story... but if you are brand new here, just read the "About" section of this podcast, and then by listening to this QUICK 8 minute episode ... you should be up to speed. This is the deal here .... "H.O.P.E Hang On Pain Ends" captured the storm of my bipolar illness... the ups and downs.... the overwhelming waves, and the belly laughs. ALL recorded during a type of hypomanic episode that I had NO idea I was in ....
