A comedy game design podcast by two guys who know nothing about comedy nor game design.
Join Trevor Scott and Ben Slinger as they take prompts from random word generators, movies, game titles and more and turn them into occasionally hilarious but always interesting game designs.
Ben and Trev pull out the random movie picker for a session of Random Movies, where they transform cinematic prompts into potential game designs. This week:
a 1950s-inspired mystery featuring a "Burton-esque" aesthetic, where you play as a quirky girl in a small town dealing with a mysterious mansion and a local man with pencil-lead fingers;
a high-concept FMV game inspired by *Pete's Dragon*, featuring a "Don Bluth" style animated dragon and a narrative about an influencer's secret life;
a tense, psychological thriller based on the *Stanford Prison Experiment*, where you play a prisoner who must navigate a world of escalating tension and a man who takes charge during a rebellion;
and a mystery-laden investigation into the disappearance of a social media influencer, where you piece together her past through a series of digital archives, only to realize your own investigation is being watched by a shadowy organization.
Join Ben and Trev as they explore the intersection of narrative, game design, and the cinematic inspiration behind the screen.

Oops All Mesh
Ben and Trev set up at Ben's kitchen table for some Ramped Up Click Pitch, resulting in:
a submarine pilot hired by a hive mind of insufferable billionaires to find the most unbelievable scampi in the Mariana Trench;
a snorkel guide on the Great Barrier Reef who takes his shorts very seriously, right down to the density of the mesh;
a hotel drama where the staff are all chess pieces and the day shift is at war with the night shift;
a soulslike where every run is about keeping an insatiable elder fed.

Hiccup Quest - Bit Storm Jam 2026
Ben and Trev host the first-ever Bit Storm game jam, where they opened the floor to the community to see what kind of ideas could be forged from a single random word. This week:
the chaotic, high-stakes development of a game centered on a character suffering from a persistent case of the hiccups;
a deep dive into the "simulated" mechanics of the game, featuring a complex system for lung respiration, a dynamic heart rate, and a "brain" that can be influenced by existential questions;
the frantic, behind-the-scenes reality of a six-hour jam, featuring a team of developers, a mysterious "Mr. X" handling the UI, and a frantic scramble to finish the game before the clock ran out;
and a look at the "dark" side of the competition, where the winning team's entries were scrutinized for AI-generated assets and the ultimate fate of the $1,000 prize.
Join Ben and Trev as they explore the intersection of narrative, game design, and the sheer, unadulterated chaos of a community-driven game jam.
