“Be client obsessed.” Every big company preaches it, every guru repeats it — so you say yes, stay available, keep them happy. The customer is always right. So why are you stretched thin, underpaid for what you deliver, and watching clients ignore the exact advice they hired you for?
Darris and Saad pull apart what “client obsessed” has actually come to mean — and why the common version of it quietly damages the businesses that practice it hardest. They get into the fear that keeps consultants saying yes to everything (and what that yes really buys), the big firms charging millions and leaving behind nothing but PowerPoint slides, and the moment every advisor knows: the client rejects your idea, then proposes it back to you three months later. Saad shares a real engagement where he told the client on day one they’d end up paying for the same work twice — and what happened when they called back two years later. By the end, you’ll know what being obsessed with your clients is supposed to look like, and whether you’ve been doing the version that’s costing you.

The Most Important AI Model Isn't Claude or ChatGPT
Every week there’s a new model, and every guru has a new verdict. Jev changes everything. Claude’s dead, ChatGPT’s back. Never use ChatGPT — here are five tools you’re falling behind without. If you’re trying to make one confident decision in that noise, you’ve probably landed where most owners land: paralyzed, or switching tools every few weeks while nothing in the business actually improves. The model that determines whether AI makes you money isn’t in any comparison video — and it isn’t Claude or ChatGPT.
In Episode 118, Darris and Saad take on the tool-churn epidemic. It starts with a famous coach’s advice to switch your AI every time a new model drops — advice we’d put in the same category as swapping your accounting software every two weeks. We cover what every switch really costs (the retraining, the chaos, the drag — not the subscription), the AI model that got blocked by the government overnight and what that means for anyone building on rented ground, and the old paid-ads lesson about owning your traffic that maps perfectly onto AI. Then Saad tells the story of handing Claude a thousand-line verification job and checking the lines he already knew the answers to — a story that ends with a Thanos quote and a lesson about the one thing you can never offload.
By the end, you’ll know the only model worth going all-in on — and why it’s been outperforming every new release since long before any of them shipped.
In this episode:
Why switching AI tools every release is churn, not progress
The hidden bill every tool change hands your team
A model banned overnight: the resilience question nobody asks
You don’t own the traffic, and you don’t own the model — the Google Slap parallel
The thousand-line job the AI swore was done
The 505-horsepower rule for every “game-changing” new release

You Can't Find Good People. The Reason Is Uncomfortable.
You've run the ads, raised the pay, and hired the person who interviewed like a rockstar — twice. Every "A-player" turns out fine, then mediocre, then gone. So you've concluded what most owners conclude: good people don't exist anymore. They do. The reason you can't find them — or keep them — is uncomfortable, and it's this episode.
In Episode 117, Darris and Saad name the thing underneath almost every people problem in business: the naivety of leadership. It shows up three ways, and most owners are running at least one — believing the whole team will rise if you hand them the right tools, cutting every squeaky wheel without asking what made it squeak, and the expensive one: being certain you hired A-talent when what you actually found was something else. Darris walks through the framework he runs in every interview, built around the one thing he refuses to supply to any hire — because it's the only thing a leader can't provide. Plus the story of the junior employee who called him out to his face, what the research says about the real performance split on any team, and why what you're willing to pay is quietly setting the ceiling on who shows up.
The minimum effective dose at the end isn't about your team at all. You'll see.
In this episode:
The three faces of leadership naivety — and which one you're running
Everyone has potential. Why that was never the problem.
The interview framework built around the one thing a leader can't supply
Buy vs. build: what you actually bought when you "found an A-player"
Why your best people burn out and how leaders misread it as not caring
Three books for the owner ready to hear this: What Got You Here Won't Get You There, Crucial Conversations, and Extreme Ownership
