The Cost of Standing: Barbering & Foot Care

We talk about fresh fades, the culture, the sports, and the conversations, but who’s talking about the barber’s feet? 👣 Barbers spend hours on their feet every day, but what happens when all that standing starts to take a toll? In this episode, we’re talking about barbers, foot care, and the real cost of standing: from proper footwear and everyday care to knowing when it’s time to seek professional help. Barbers Are Fathers Too

Tune in as we sit down with a barber whose impact reaches far beyond the chair. From teaching his daughter how to cut hair at 10 years old and mentoring kids throughout the community, he’s using the barbershop as a classroom for life, discipline, entrepreneurship, and purpose. This episode release also coincides with Aaron and I being featured in the May/June issue of Sheen Magazine in an article titled “Barbers Are Fathers Too,” where I had the opportunity to interview him as we discussed mental health, hair care essentials, fatherhood, community impact, and much more. I’m truly grateful for the chance to not only highlight the importance of barbers within our communities, but also to interview and feature a barber whose story reflects mentorship, fatherhood, mental health awareness, and community impact. Your support, platform, and belief in our story are deeply appreciated. Thank you again for the opportunity and for helping amplify conversations that matter. 💈 Barbers, Let’s Talk! ✂️ If you're a barber with a story to tell, or you know someone who's making waves behind the chair, we would love to feature you on the podcast! Who Got the Body? The Weight of Saying Goodbye

In the Black household, when someone passes, the first question is: “Who got the body?” We come together with fish fries, plates, and love to make sure our people are laid to rest with dignity. In this episode, I sat down with Funeral Director & Embalmer, Joel Simone, who’s been featured in The New York Times, NPR, and Good Housekeeping to talk about what really happens behind the scenes; and something we don’t talk about enough: how we care for our loved ones’ hair at the end of life. From preserving identity, to honoring culture, to the small details that mean everything: this conversation is powerful, emotional, and necessary.
