Bloodlines is a podcast about more than football. It is a story-led series that captures the heart and culture of the Sydney Swans through personal conversations with the players, coaches, staff, fans and community members who shaped it.
Darcy Smyth is a lifelong Swans fan, business and leadership mentor, and storyteller. He believes great clubs are not built on moments, they are built on memory. This podcast is his way of helping preserve the ones that matter most for a club that means so much, to so many.

Though the results on the scoreboard didn't go our way in this year's finals, there's still so much to be proud of in amongst a tough final month as a Swans community.

25: Luke Jacobz | When You’re Working a Grand Final… But Desperate for the Swans to Win
Best known to Australians through shows like Home and Away, McLeod’s Daughters and The X Factor, Luke Jacobz has spent plenty of time in front of big crowds. But there’s something different about doing it on Grand Final day with the Sydney Swans.
Luke is a passionate Swans supporter and has become a familiar face to fans through his involvement with the club as an ambassador, host and presenter.
In this episode, Luke takes us behind the scenes of that relationship with the Swans, including what it’s like being involved in the festivities on the biggest day on the AFL calendar.
We talk about the atmosphere of Grand Final day, the privilege of being down amongst it as a host and presenter, and the strange experience of having a job to do while the football fan inside you is desperately hoping your team wins.
Luke also shares where his love for the Swans came from, the memories and players that have stayed with him, and what it means to now have a genuine role within the club he supports.
It’s a different perspective on following the red and white: not quite in the stands, not quite inside the football department, but close enough to experience some of the biggest moments in Swans history from a position very few supporters ever get to see.
