[…] I mean, government has to spend a whole lot more, especially on pensions. Triple lock. The triple lock, the greatest villain in all of the public finances. But this is also bad news for consumers. I mean, great news for pensioners. They'll be delighted. But for consumers, I mean, inflation going up, you know, that really hits people in their pockets, doesn't it? As does interest rates. It affects your mortgages. So this is, you know, everybody's going to be suffering. Indeed. And we can't lay all of this at the door of the government because the single biggest driver to this inflation rise has been transport, which is a direct consequence of the cost of fuel going up following the war in Iran.
