Don't Be Surprised: Revisiting Spiritual Warfare | "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ"
<p>In Episode 11 of Season 3 of "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ", the team gets together to revisit a theme from Season 1, Episode 4, "Spiritual Warfare".</p><p>We spend time reading and unpacking 1 Peter 4:12-19, focusing on Apostle Peter's opening statement, "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you." Often, we <strong>are surprised </strong>and we <strong>consider the trials and spiritual warfare we encounter strange</strong>. Getting Cars to Needy Families: The Mission of C.A.R.s From Christ Foundation | "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ"
<p>In Episode 10 of Season 3 in "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ", we have the pleasure of interviewing C.A.R. Co-Founder, Joshua King about the exciting establishment of the new 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit organization, <strong>C.A.R.s From Christ Foundation</strong>.</p><p><strong>C.A.R.s From Christ Foundation (CFCF)</strong> has grown out of the heart of our Co-Founders and Owners, Joshua & Abigail King, who have served regularly with ministries to the homeless in the greater Tulsa Metroplex. Essential to rehabilitating this population back into the workforce is providing road-ready vehicles that can be donated to successful candidates who are graduating out of programs that have prepared them for re-entry. </p><p>In addition to donating vehicles to successful candidates from these homeless ministries, Joshua and I also discuss the role CFCF wants to play in providing vehicles to needy families in local church congregations, particularly those whose families are struggling with failing or unreliable vehicles. Given the rising cost of cars, families are struggling increasingly in being able to afford working vehicles.</p><p>As a recipient of two (2) donated vehicles myself, I (Ross) can advocate personally for the challenge of being able to afford reliable vehicles for a family. So, like those benefactors who provided for my needs, CFCF wants to partner with local churches, benevolent individuals, and generous organizations to develop a pipeline to donate road-ready vehicles to needy families, as well as successful graduates of homeless rehabilitation ministries who are re-entering the workforce.</p><p>If you are interested in partnering with us in this ministry, please contact Rev. Restoring Cars: Show Cars vs. Drivers | "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ"
<p>In a special episode in our third season in "C.A.R.s, Coffee, & Christ", we have the pleasure of welcoming three new members of our team to the table, then move to main topic of the show: The business of restoring cars in general, and the difference between restoring show cars versus driver vehicles, in particular.</p><p>The team begins by discussing the different motivations for being in the car restoration business. Some are born into it, as family members hand down the practice generationally. Others work themselves into it, moving from repair shops to restoration shops. Finally, some discover it, longing for the creativity and nostalgia of the older, American experience, through old cars.</p><p>Next, the team talks about how the car restoration business is a broad highway, but within that highway are multiple lanes. One of those lanes is occupied by what we call the “Show Car” industry. This lane focuses on restoring old cars to perfection, but is highly expensive, time consuming, and impractical. Often, these cars, while beautiful and impressive, are restored to sit in garages and bring to shows, but not for the road.</p><p>Now, while there’s nothing wrong with that lane, we think the “Driver” lane on this restoration business highway is the better option, and more fun option! Not only is it more affordable and practical, but it better connects to our mission and purpose – of getting classic cars to younger generations and inspiring them to build these cars again.</p><p>If our channel is an encouragement to you, please <strong>like and subscribe</strong>!
