The Identity Code: Who Were You Created to Be?
What if the version of you that you’ve been calling your identity… is actually a version of you that learned how to survive? In this episode of Called to Be Seen, Jordan Lynae sits down with Jen Horling, founder of The Overcomers Movement, for a powerful conversation about identity, faith, surrender, survival patterns, and discovering who you were created to be. After losing her father to suicide during her first week of college, Jen walked through grief, questions around her identity and belonging, and seasons of feeling trapped inside herself. Her journey eventually led her to a truth that became foundational to her life and work: Identity before destiny. Jen shares how the beliefs that once helped protect us can eventually become the very patterns keeping us from the life we’re being called into. Together, Jordan and Jen talk about recognizing the difference between your true identity and a survival identity, releasing the need to control what comes next, creating space to hear God above the noise, and having the courage to let yourself be fully seen. They also explore the power of surrender, mentorship, community, trusting divine timing, and why sometimes the thing you’re calling your personality may actually be an old pattern that once made you feel safe. In this episode, you’ll hear about: • Jen’s journey through grief after losing her father to suicide • The “survival code” we can unknowingly build around pain • Why what protects you in one season can imprison you in another • Identity before destiny • The difference between striving and surrender • How quiet time with God changed Jen’s relationship with herself • Why being seen can become part of your healing • Finding the “gold” inside the chapters you once wanted to erase • The power of one person believing in you • Why your story may be exactly what someone else needs to hear You don’t have to become someone else to step into your calling. Sometimes the journey is about uncovering what was there before fear, pain, expectations, and survival taught you who you needed to be. Who were you created to be? You’re Allowed to Outgrow the Life That Once Made Sense
You’re Allowed to Outgrow the Life That Once Made Sense | Tina LeAnn What happens when the life you worked so hard to build no longer feels like the life you’re meant to keep living? In this episode of Called to Be Seen, Jordan Lynae sits down with Tina LeAnn, advisor to visionary leaders, founder of The Sovereign Soul, and creator of Recode Your System™, for a deeply honest conversation about identity, reinvention, self-trust, nervous-system patterns, surrender, and learning to let go. For years, Tina was the capable one. She built a successful career in engineering and product design. She was married for 21 years. She worked hard, traveled, showed up for the people around her, and became incredibly good at handling whatever life put in front of her. But underneath that capability was something she didn’t fully recognize yet. Tina grew up in an inconsistent home where addiction and alcoholism were present. At a young age, she learned that staying quiet, not making waves, and needing very little helped her feel safe. She calls it her “invisibility wound.” As an adult, those patterns showed up differently: people-pleasing, over-functioning, shape-shifting to belong, saying yes when she wanted to say no, and becoming the woman who could carry everything. Until her body began asking her to stop. Migraines. Chronic fatigue. Adrenal issues. A nervous system she says had been operating in fight-or-flight for years. That became the beginning of a much deeper journey. Tina began studying human behavior, psychology, nervous-system regulation, somatic work, NLP, hypnosis, breathwork and the unconscious patterns underneath the choices we make. And eventually, she had to confront one of the biggest questions of her life: Was she willing to keep maintaining a life that no longer felt like hers? After the end of her 21-year marriage, Tina entered a season of grief, discovery and reinvention. Then she did something unexpected. She bought the 1971 muscle car she’d wanted since she was 16 and spent a year on the road. Her radio broke early in the journey. So for thousands of miles, there was no podcast playing. No music filling the silence. Just the windows down, the sound of the engine and one phrase that kept coming back to her: Let go. That journey became about far more than travel. It became an experiment in surrender. In this conversation, Jordan and Tina explore what happens when the identities and survival strategies that once protected us become too small for the women we’re becoming. They talk about trusting yourself when the next step feels uncomfortable, why choosing yourself can disrupt the relationships and patterns around you, how our bodies communicate with us, the power of stillness, and why transformation doesn’t have to look perfect to be real. Tina also shares a powerful reminder for the woman who thinks she needs another person to tell her what to do: You already know. You may simply need enough quiet to hear yourself again—and enough courage to follow what you hear. Whether you’re navigating the end of a relationship, questioning an identity you’ve carried for years, rebuilding your life, or simply feeling the quiet knowing that something has changed, this conversation is an invitation to trust what is emerging. You don’t have to wait until everything falls apart. You don’t have to prove that your old life was wrong. You’re allowed to outgrow a life that once made perfect sense. When You Know There Is More Inside Of You
What happens when you can feel yourself changing before you fully know what you’re changing into? In this episode of Called to Be Seen, Jordan Lynae speaks to the woman who knows there is more inside of her—the woman with a calling, a story, a gift, or a message she knows she’s here to share, even if she can’t fully see what the next chapter looks like yet. Jordan shares what has been unfolding in her own life after launching Called to Be Seen, making a last-minute decision to drive nine hours to Colorado, and putting herself in a room filled with women who were building, leading, speaking, and choosing to go after what they felt called to create. But somewhere on that drive, the lesson became less about doing more and more about getting quiet enough to hear again. Jordan talks about the seasons when everything can look successful from the outside while something inside of you is asking for a shift. She shares what entrepreneurship, divorce, motherhood, COVID, business, faith, and learning to surrender have taught her about trusting herself and allowing life to unfold without needing to control every detail. She also shares one of the business lessons she’s carrying into this next chapter: Stop asking, “How can I do all of this?” and start asking, “Who can do this for me?” Because sometimes leadership isn’t carrying more. It’s creating enough space to do the work only you can do. And toward the end of the episode, Jordan shares a deeply personal moment from Colorado. Years after losing her dad, she found herself driving through the mountains, praying and asking him for a sign. After seeing rainbows along the drive, she later stopped beside a field of yellow flowers—and found herself surrounded by butterflies. It immediately brought her back to the day after her father passed, when thousands of butterflies appeared outside her home and one landed on her cheek, reminding her of the song her dad had always imagined for their first dance: Butterfly Kisses. Sometimes we’re looking so hard for the next answer that we miss what is already happening around us. This episode is a conversation about surrender, self-trust, leadership, listening, faith, and having the courage to use the voice you’ve been given. Because being visible and being truly seen are not the same thing. And your story may be the very thing another woman needs to hear. Stepping Into Visibility: The Power of Being Seen
What if you’re showing up, building the business, leading the room, and doing everything you’re supposed to do… but you’re still hiding? In this deeply personal episode of Called to Be Seen, Jordan Lynae explores a kind of hiding that doesn’t look like hiding at all. It can look like success. For years, Jordan believed being visible meant posting, speaking, building businesses, leading, and putting herself out there. But she eventually realized that being visible and being truly seen are two very different things. You can be successful and still hide behind the version of yourself that knows how to perform, produce, achieve, and take care of everyone else. Jordan shares what hiding looked like inside her own life and business, including a defining season during the pandemic when everything slowed down and she was forced to get quiet. As a mother navigating uncertainty while trying to keep a business going, she reached a point where she stopped pushing and surrendered. And in that quiet, something changed. She began reconnecting with herself outside of the doing, the expectations, and the identity she had built around success. In this episode, Jordan talks about surrender, identity, motherhood, visibility, trusting yourself again, and what happens when you stop asking, “How do I get more people to see me?” and start asking: “How much of me am I actually allowing to be seen?” Because being seen isn’t about becoming louder. It isn’t about proving that you belong. And it isn’t about performing a more polished version of yourself for the world. It’s about allowing more of the real you to come forward. If you’ve built something successful but know there’s another layer of you ready to emerge, this conversation is for you. You were never meant to be the best-kept secret in your own life. Beyond the Crown: When Your Story Becomes Your Purpose
Beyond the Crown: When Your Story Becomes Your Purpose | Sherri Gorbett What happens when the story you once struggled to understand becomes the very story that could help someone else? In this powerful episode of Called to Be Seen, Jordan Lynae sits down with Sherri Gorbett to talk about identity, body image, breast implant illness, purpose, pageantry, faith, and what can happen when you finally become willing to share the parts of your story you once kept hidden. After years of unexplained health struggles, Sherri began researching breast implant illness and ultimately made the decision to have her implants removed. Just two days after her explant surgery, the FDA announced a black box warning on breast implants. Her experience left her with a question: What am I supposed to do with what I’ve learned? She started small—sharing her story and information with women in her local community. Soon, women began reaching out. A plastic surgeon encouraged her to keep going. Sherri eventually joined the Breast Implant Safety Alliance, where she now serves as Board Treasurer and Patient Advocate. Then, at 48 years old, another unexpected opportunity appeared: pageantry. Sherri had zero pageant experience and no desire to walk across a stage in a swimsuit and heels. But a friend asked her a question that changed everything: “What if it isn’t about you? What if it’s about all the women who are going to hear your story?” Sherri said yes. She went on to compete on state and national stages, using the crown as a platform for a mission much bigger than herself. After one national competition, another woman approached her and told her that hearing Sherri’s story had saved her life. But this conversation goes far beyond the crown. Sherri opens up about growing up in foster care and carrying the painful label of being “just the foster child.” She shares how those early experiences shaped her sense of worth, why learning to own her story has been an ongoing journey, and what she now wants other women to understand about their bodies, their beauty, their voices, and their purpose. Whether you’re standing at the beginning of a new chapter, questioning whether you’re too late, or feeling called to finally share your own story, this conversation is a reminder: Don’t spend your life wondering “what if?” Sometimes the opportunity that scares you most isn’t only about you. Your story may be exactly what someone else needs to hear. The hidden cost of constant noise and what silence reveals Why it works
What if the answer you’ve been praying for is not more hustle, but more silence? Jordan Lynae shares the powerful case for stepping out of the noise, creating space, and finally hearing what matters most. Fresh off a vacation with no agenda, no laptop, and no notifications, Jordan reflects on how quickly life can become so full of doing that we stop truly listening. She unpacks why presence is not passive, why calm comes before clarity, and why the constant pull of phones, checklists, and outside opinions may be the very thing keeping you from your next step. You’ll discover: Why Jordan says “calm” in her CALLED framework means more than rest or relaxation How silence can reveal the boundaries, grief, dreams, and desires you’ve been avoiding The small habits that steal your attention before the day even begins Why documenting every moment can sometimes keep you from actually living it A simple invitation to create five to ten minutes of real stillness each day Jordan also shares how a family road trip, beach walks, and moments of quiet with her children reminded her that legacy is shaped not by constant motion, but by the ability to pause, notice, and listen. She connects that insight to her upcoming book and the deeper message behind her CALLED method, where calm becomes the foundation for alignment, leadership, and purpose. If you’ve been asking for direction, feeling disconnected, or wondering why your heart still feels unheard, this episode offers a grounded reset. It’s a reminder for anyone who feels pulled in too many directions: the life you’re longing for may begin in the quiet. Perfect for anyone craving peace, clarity, and a gentler way forward. Share it with a woman who needs the reminder that she was never called to become louder - only present enough to hear the voice that has been guiding her all along.
