EP #10 The Midlife Entrepreneur’s Guide to Starting With AI
Hey, Friend... Everybody wants to know which AI tool to use, what to automate, and how to get AI to create better content. But I think there’s a question that needs to come first: Before you teach AI your brand, is your brand actually dialed in? Because AI can help you communicate a clear brand faster. It can also help you communicate a confused brand faster. And for experienced women entrepreneurs, that distinction matters. We’re not coming into AI with nothing. We’re bringing decades of experience, careers, businesses, certifications, clients, offers, pivots, stories, opinions, failures, wins, and things we know because we’ve actually lived them. The problem isn’t always that we need more information. Sometimes we need to figure out what all of it means together. In this episode of Called to Build, we’re talking about why AI readiness may actually be brand readiness—and why the smartest place to start with AI might have nothing to do with automation. Why asking “What AI should I use?” may be the wrong first question What happened when someone asked me, “How do you teach AI your brand?” Why experienced entrepreneurs often have too much information, not too little How AI can expose unclear positioning instead of solving it Why your lived experience, expertise, offers, stories and beliefs need a clear center The difference between using AI to help you recognize your authority and asking it to manufacture an identity for you Why “What should AI be amplifying?” is such an important question What AI needs to understand about you before you start automating content Why clarity doesn’t mean your brand has to be permanently figured out How I’m thinking differently about purpose, faith, business and the work we’re actually called to build A simple exercise to test whether your brand foundation is clear enough to teach to AI What should AI be amplifying? Not what could it create. Not what could it automate. Not what could it do faster. What is already true about your authority, your point of view, your work and the people you serve that you want this incredibly powerful tool to help you communicate? Because you are still the source. AI is the expansion tool. Before you ask AI to create another piece of content, see if you can clearly give it these six things: Who you serve. What you help them do. What you believe. What you’ve lived that gives you authority. What you want to become known for. What your business is ultimately leading toward. Then pay attention to where you get stuck. That hesitation may tell you more about what your brand needs next than another prompt ever will. Called to Build is the podcast for Christian women over 50 who know God isn’t finished with their story. Each week, we have honest conversations about faith, identity, purpose, business, branding, authority, AI, visibility, leadership, and what it means to build meaningful work in the second half of life. Because your experience wasn’t wasted, your age isn’t a limitation, and you don’t need to have everything figured out to take the next faithful step. Midlife isn’t a crisis. It’s a commissioning. EP #9 Why Your Life Experience Matters More in the Age of AI
Hey, Friend... AI can write the caption. Build the outline. Generate the hooks. Give you twenty content ideas before you've finished your coffee. But it cannot live your life. And that distinction is becoming more important than ever. I recently came across a report about brands increasingly turning to older creators because they're looking for something polished, AI-generated content can't manufacture: lived experience, credibility, context, and trust. And I think there's a much bigger conversation here for women in midlife. Because after years of being made to feel like we're late to the internet, late to personal branding, late to content creation, and now somehow late to AI too, what if the opposite is true? What if the decades behind you are becoming one of your greatest advantages? In this episode of Called to Build, we're talking about how to use AI without allowing it to replace the very thing that makes your voice valuable. Because AI should amplify your experience, not replace your thinking. We talk about why lived experience matters even more when information and competent content are abundant, the difference between using AI as a tool and allowing it to become your voice, and why women with decades of experience may be sitting on far more valuable content than they realize. I also unpack the content-recognition problem I see with experienced women all the time: we dismiss our best stories, observations, lessons, opinions, and hard-earned knowledge because they feel too ordinary to us. And we get practical about how to change the way you use AI so you're not asking it to tell you what to think, but using it to help you think more deeply about what you've already noticed. Because here's the distinction I want you to remember: AI is the tool. You are the source. The tool can be learned. Your judgment took decades. Where might you be asking AI to create something for you before you've given yourself the chance to recognize what you actually think? What happened recently that made you stop, notice something, change your mind, question an assumption, or see something differently? There may be a piece of content sitting right there. Before you open ChatGPT this week, give yourself ten minutes without AI. Ask yourself: What happened? What did I notice? What did it make me think? Why would the woman I serve care? Then bring that raw material to AI and ask: “This is something I've been thinking about. Don't replace my point of view. Help me identify the strongest idea here. Ask me questions that would help me develop it, and show me where I need to be clearer.” That's a very different relationship with AI. You're not asking, “Tell me what to think.” You're saying, “Help me think more deeply about something I already noticed.” That's leverage without giving away your voice. Called to Build is for Christian women over 50 who know God isn't finished with their story. We have honest conversations about faith, identity, purpose, business, personal brand, leadership, and what it means to build a meaningful second half of life. Because your experience wasn't wasted. Your age isn't a limitation. And you don't need to reinvent yourself to move forward. Midlife isn't a crisis. It's a commissioning. EP #8 Why You Still Don’t Feel Confident (Even Though You’re More Experienced Than Ever)
Hey, Friend... Have you ever wondered why you still don’t feel confident, even though you’re more experienced than you’ve ever been? By midlife, you’ve lived through hard things. You’ve made decisions, solved problems, led people, raised families, built careers or businesses, navigated change, started over, figured things out, and gathered decades of wisdom. And yet, somehow, you can still find yourself second-guessing whether you’re ready for what comes next. Maybe we’ve been thinking about confidence backwards. We tend to believe confidence is something we need to develop before we speak up, lead, become more visible, start the business, share what we know, or take the next step toward what God may be calling us to build. But confidence usually doesn’t come before action. Confidence is often the evidence left behind by action. In this episode of Called to Build, we’re talking about why so many women over 50 struggle to trust themselves despite everything they’ve already lived through—and why waiting until you “feel confident” may actually be keeping you stuck. We’ll also explore something I call Authority Reps™: small, intentional actions that give you evidence that you can trust your voice, your experience, and your ability to lead. We’ll talk about why confidence doesn’t have to come before action, what causes experienced women to continue second-guessing themselves, how lived experience becomes authority, and why repetition matters so much when you’re rebuilding self-trust. We’ll also unpack Authority Reps™ and how small acts of visibility, leadership, decision-making, and follow-through can help you stop waiting to feel ready and start building evidence that you already know how to move. Because after 50, the question may not be: How do I become more confident? It may be: How do I start trusting the woman God has already spent decades preparing? Where are you currently waiting to feel confident before you act? And what would one small Authority Rep™ look like this week? You don’t need to prove that you can do everything. You need evidence that you can trust yourself to take the next faithful step. 🎁 The Authority Reps Tracker™ This week’s Midlife CEO Resource™ is a practical tool to help you strengthen self-trust, confidence, and leadership through small daily actions. How to Know What God Is Calling You to Do in Midlife: 3 Clear Signs
Hey friend! Have you been asking, “What is God calling me to do next?” For many Christian women over 50, midlife brings questions we did not expect to be asking again. What is my purpose now? Is God calling me into something new? How do I know if this feeling is actually from God? And what am I supposed to do with everything I have experienced up until this point? If you are trying to find your purpose in midlife or discern God’s calling for your next season, you may be looking for a dramatic answer when God has already been leaving clues throughout your life. In this episode of Called to Build: Midlife Reinvention, Purpose and Business for Christian Women Over 50, I’m sharing three clear signs God may be preparing you for what He is calling you to do next. We’re talking about why your relationship with God may deepen before your direction becomes clear, why the life that once fit you can suddenly begin to feel uncomfortable, and why your lived experience may contain important clues about the people you are uniquely equipped to serve. Because finding your God-given purpose does not always begin with figuring out what you should build. Sometimes it begins by looking backward. • How to know what God is calling you to do in midlife • Three signs God may be preparing you for a new season • Why Christian women can feel restless or unsettled in midlife • How to discern God’s direction when you are unsure what comes next • Why your relationship with God may deepen before your calling becomes clearer • How your past experiences, struggles, skills and story can point toward your next assignment • Why the roles and identities that once fit you may no longer feel right • Finding purpose after 50 without believing you have to start your entire life over • The difference between manufacturing a purpose and recognizing what God may already be developing • A simple reflection exercise to help you identify patterns in your life and begin seeing what God may be preparing you to do next If you are a Christian woman over 50 wondering what God wants you to do next, this conversation is for you. You have decades of experience behind you. You have walked through things, learned things, survived things, built things and developed gifts that you probably could not have recognized when you were younger. Those years may not simply be your history. They may be preparation. Instead of only asking: “God, what do You want me to do?” Perhaps another question is: “God, what have You already been preparing me to do?” Your next season may not require you to become an entirely different woman. It may require you to finally recognize what God has been building in you all along. 🎧 Called to Build is the podcast for Christian women over 50 navigating midlife reinvention, purpose, faith, entrepreneurship, personal branding, leadership and the question of what God may be calling them to build next. You Don’t Need to Reinvent Yourself in Midlife
Hey, Friend... There’s a word that seems to follow women everywhere once we reach midlife: reinvention. We’re told to reinvent our careers, our bodies, our businesses, our relationships and, somewhere along the way, ourselves. But what if you don’t actually need to reinvent yourself in midlife? What if this season isn’t asking you to become somebody new at all? In this episode of Called to Build, I’m exploring the pressure women over 50 feel to start over, find a new identity or create a completely different version of themselves when life begins to change. Because changing seasons and changing assignments do not necessarily require a new identity. Sometimes the real work is learning to recognize the woman God has already been forming through decades of experience, motherhood, business, relationships, disappointment, success, faith and everything in between. Maybe you aren't starting again. Maybe you're finally beginning to see what all those years were building. We talk about why midlife can make you question who you are when familiar roles begin to change, and why the pressure to “reinvent yourself” can actually make this season more confusing. I share why I've become less interested in reinvention and more interested in recognition, refinement and rediscovery—and why your life experience may be one of the most valuable things you carry into your next chapter. We also explore the difference between identity and assignment, why experience creates a kind of authority we often overlook, and what Scripture shows us about the way God uses what has already been formed rather than simply throwing it away and beginning again. Because perhaps the question isn't: “Who do I need to become now?” Perhaps it's: “What has God been building in me all along that I'm only now beginning to recognize?” If you're a Christian woman over 50 trying to make sense of what God may be calling you to build in this season, continue the conversation here: The Midlife Commissioning Blueprint 👉 https://midlifeceo.ca/blueprintmasterclass (https://midlifeceo.ca/blueprintmasterclass) Explore more from Christine 👉 https://midlifeceo.ca/ Called to Build is the podcast for Christian women over 50 who know God isn't finished with their story. You Are Not Broken; Why Midlife Feels Different
Hey, Friend... There comes a point in midlife when the routines that used to work stop working, the roles that once defined us begin to change, and even the most capable women can quietly start wondering: What is wrong with me? I know that question because I’ve asked it too. In this episode of Called to Build, we’re talking about why midlife can feel so uncomfortable, particularly after years of being the woman who carries, manages, anticipates and keeps everything moving. Because maybe you’re not falling apart. Maybe you’re finally becoming aware of patterns that worked beautifully in one season of your life but simply don’t belong in the next. We’ll talk about menopause, changing family roles, over-functioning, the identity we can unknowingly build around being needed, and why trying to get “back to normal” may be the very thing keeping us stuck. Most importantly, I want to offer you a different way to interpret what you’re experiencing. Midlife isn’t necessarily where things fall apart. Sometimes it’s where old patterns stop working. We explore why capable women can suddenly feel unlike themselves in midlife, how years of carrying responsibility can quietly become part of our identity, and why exhaustion isn't always about doing too much—it can also come from continuing to do things that no longer belong to us. I also share some of my own experience with post-menopause and the realization that I couldn't optimize, schedule or train my way back into an earlier version of myself. Maybe the goal isn't to get her back. Maybe God is inviting us to pay attention to the woman we're becoming now. Instead of asking: “What’s wrong with me?” Try asking: “What patterns no longer fit the season I’m in?” You don't have to fix everything today. Start by noticing. Awareness isn't failure. Sometimes it's the beginning of seeing clearly. If this episode has you thinking more deeply about what God may be doing in this season of your life, I’d love to invite you deeper into my world. How to Know What God Is Calling You to Do
Hey midlifer... Have you ever found yourself asking, "God, what do You want me to do next?" Maybe you've prayed about it. Waited. Wondered if you were missing something. Or perhaps you've assumed that if God really wanted you to know your calling, He'd make it obvious. But what if that's not how He works? In this episode of Called to Build, we're exploring three signs that God may already be preparing you for your next season. Because I've come to believe that God's calling is rarely revealed all at once. More often, it's recognised by looking back and noticing the patterns He's been weaving through our lives all along. If you're a Christian woman over 50 navigating midlife, wondering what's next, I hope this conversation brings you both clarity and encouragement. You'll discover: Why God often deepens your relationship with Him before He reveals your next assignment. Why the life that once fit may no longer feel like it does—and why that isn't something to fear. How your lived experience and personal story may be some of the clearest clues to your calling. Why purpose isn't something you manufacture—it's something you begin to recognise. A simple reflection exercise to help you identify the patterns God may already be using to prepare you for what's next. Instead of asking, "Lord, what should I do?" Try asking, "Lord, what have You been preparing me for?" Look for patterns, not perfection. God doesn't waste your experiences. He uses them to shape your character, strengthen your faith, and prepare you for the work He's inviting you into. Why Most Women Over 50 Don't Need Another Business Idea
Hey, Reinvention Sister... Have you ever found yourself thinking, "Maybe I just haven't found the right business yet?" Maybe you've downloaded another free guide, watched another webinar, or wondered if you should start something completely different. I understand because I've been there. But what if the answer isn't another business idea? What if the business you're looking for has been quietly growing inside you through every season you've lived, every lesson you've learned, and every challenge God has faithfully brought you through? In this episode of Called to Build, we're exploring why so many Christian women over 50 underestimate the value of their own life experience, and why your greatest business opportunity may already be hiding in your story. If you're navigating midlife reinvention, searching for greater purpose, or wondering how to build a meaningful business that aligns with your faith, this conversation is for you. So grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and let's build together. Why most women over 50 don't actually need another business idea. The difference between chasing opportunities and discovering your calling. Why your life experience is one of your greatest business assets. How your story becomes the foundation of an authentic personal brand. Why confidence is built through action, not before it. How God prepares us for our purpose long before we recognize it ourselves. One of the greatest lies women believe in midlife is that they've missed their opportunity. I don't believe that's true. I believe God has been preparing you through every season of your life. The disappointments. The career changes. The children you've raised. The businesses you've started. The dreams that didn't work out. The faith that carried you through it all. None of it was wasted. The question isn't whether you have something valuable to offer. The question is whether you're willing to believe that your story already contains the seeds of the business you're called to build. If today's conversation resonated with you, I'd love to help you take the next step. Why So Many Women Feel Restless in Midlife (And What It Really Means)
Why So Many Women Feel Restless in Midlife (And What It Really Means) Have you ever looked at your life and thought: "I should be happier than I am." From the outside, everything looks fine. You've raised kids, built a career, supported your family, and carried responsibilities for decades. Yet something feels different. Restless. Unsettled. Like there's more waiting for you. In this inaugural episode of Called to Build, Christine Burke introduces the powerful framework that has transformed the way she sees midlife: Carrier → Reckoning → Commissioning What if the thing you've been calling a midlife crisis isn't a crisis at all? What if it's a commissioning? This episode explores the hidden transition many women experience in midlife and why the questions you're asking right now may not be signs that something is wrong—but signs that something new is beginning. ✨ Why so many women feel restless in midlife ✨ The difference between a midlife crisis and a midlife commissioning ✨ The three seasons of the Carrier → Reckoning → Commissioning framework ✨ Why your experience, wisdom, and story matter more than you realize ✨ How faith can help you navigate identity shifts and life transitions ✨ The questions every woman should ask herself during a season of reinvention ✨ Why your next chapter may be your most impactful one yet Midlife isn't necessarily a crisis—it's often an invitation into a new season of purpose. Many women spend decades carrying responsibilities, expectations, and emotional labor without realizing how much they're holding. Restlessness is often a signal that growth is happening. The woman you're becoming may no longer fit inside the life built for a previous version of you. Your authority isn't built through credentials alone. It's built through lived experience. Everything you've lived through may be preparing you for what you're called to build next. "Midlife is not a crisis. It's a commissioning." "The woman you've become can no longer fit inside the life that was built for a previous version of you." "Your experience isn't random. Your story isn't wasted." "You are not starting over. You are building from everything you've lived through." Take some time to sit with these questions: What have I been carrying? What am I being called to release? What season am I actually in? Next week, Christine explores why so many smart, capable women over 50 feel invisible—and why the real issue isn't visibility. It's authority. And it's a conversation every midlife woman needs to hear. Next Episode Why Smart Women Over 50 Suddenly Feel Invisible About Your Host Christine Burke is on a mission to help midlife women stop playing small and start building from everything they've lived through. As an entrepreneur, author, speaker, and founder of The Midlife CEO, she helps faith-fueled women transform their experience, wisdom, and story into authority, influence, and purpose-driven business. When she's not talking about personal branding, leadership, or midlife reinvention, she's probably having deep conversations, drinking coffee, or reminding women that they're not starting over—they're building from a lifetime of experience. Because midlife isn't a crisis. It's a commissioning.
