King Zedekiah sent messengers to ask Jeremiah to pray when under siege, and the answer from God was exactly as He said previously through His word and the prophets. At God's direction, Jeremiah dictated to Baruch the scribe all God had spoken to him, and the scroll was read in the hearing of the people, elders and king Jehoiakim. The king burned the scroll that warned of coming judgment, yet it did nothing to prevent God's word from coming to pass. May God's people heed His word, repent of sin and find forgiveness and refuge in Him!
