In Conversation with the Museum of Cambridge

In Episode Seven we go back to history. In an earlier episode we discovered how archeology unravels our past. However, the public are not allowed on to the sites. But that does not mean that we cannot explore our past. Museums offer us an insight into our past. Most cover the topics of war, Natural History, human evolution, Engineering, and social history. Many villages, towns and cities have museums covering how their community developed. Cambridge has no shortage of museums. Some are run by the University, and some are run independently like the Museum of Cambridge.

In this Podcast we talk to Alex Smaridge, the museum’s engagement, and collections Manager. We talked about the development of the museum and the day to day running of the museum. We also talk about the relationship between the University and the Museum. We also discuss the building the museum is housed in. To further understand this museum, go to their website which is:

https://www.museumofcambridge.org.uk/

This podcast is another Benchmark on how we are promoting small independent and volunteer run museums.

In Episode Seven we go back to history. In Conversation With George Stanley ( Personal Trainer)

In Episode Six We turn our attention to fitness. The National health Service recommends around 2 hours of vigorous exercise a week. This means getting the heart pumping. But quite a few people do not heed this advice. But a lot of the population do undertake exercise. Many join the local walking group that many surgeries now run. Many people walk their dog more often. And some take up running, joining in their local park run. But many like the comfort of their local commercial gym. There are though more options to get fit than to stand on the treadmill or even try and get fit on the cycle machine or even the rowing machine. Body building is one of those things that can reduce weight and at the same time gain muscle.

In this podcast I talk to my Personal trainer George Stanley on what made him take up Body Building and why its beneficial to someone’s health and mental wellbeing. On what a Personal trainer does and the sort of clients he has. And how he wants his future to expand into management and become a manager of a gym. George works out of the gym group gym in Cambridge and is always willing to take on new clients. Please email, georgestanleypt@gmail.com
