Für meinen Film “Wilde Wälder” habe ich den Käferexperten Andreas Weigel bei seiner Arbeit an einem FFH-Monitoring des Hirschkäfers begleitet. Wir haben über die Bedeutung von stillgelegten Wäldern für Holzkäfer, über Urwaldreliktarten und die Auswirkungen des Klimawandels auf Käferpopulationen gesprochen. Er erzählte mir, was ihn an Käfern fasziniert und von seinem spannendsten Fund. Denn er hat zahlreiche Arten entdeckt und erstmals beschrieben. Einen Käfer hat er sogar nach der Nightwish-Sängerin Floor Jansen benannt.

Thüringens Umweltministerin a.D. Anja Siegesmund über “Urwälder von morgen” | S02 E01
Thüringen besteht zu etwa einem Drittel aus Wäldern. Anja Siegesmund hat als Thüringer Umweltministerin auf den Weg gebracht, dass bis 2029 5% dieser Wälder forstlich ruhen werden. Ich habe 2020 mit der damaligen Ministerin über das Vorhaben, die Ziele, die Hürden bei der Umsetzung und die Debatte, welche Bedeutung Wald für uns hat, gesprochen.
