<p>On this episode of the CVCS Baseball Podcast, head coach Clemente Bonilla talks to DJ Sutorius. </p> <p>In his three years on the varsity baseball team at CVCS, DJ put up a .374 batting average over nearly 200 plate appearances while also pitching a HS career 2.68 ERA with a 15-9 record in 40 appearances (25 starts). He was a three-time all-league player with the Eagles and helped them to a 2014 CIF Championship.</p> <p>After graduating from CVCS, Sutorius pitching for a handful of colleges, including Coppin State University, Saddleback College, Biola University, and Colorado Christian University.</p>

<p>On this episode of the CVCS Baseball Podcast, head coach Clemente Bonilla talks to Seth Etherton, a former MLB starting pitcher and the current pitching coach for the USC Trojans. </p> <p>Seth pitched at Dana Hills High School in Dana Point, California before pitching for the University of Southern California. Seth led the Trojans to a College World Series title in 1998 with 13 wins and a 3.23 ERA, with 182 strikeouts (a Pac-10 and USC record at the time) and just 29 walks. In addition to being named the 1998 NCAA Player of the Year, Etherton was also named a first-team All-American and the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year.</p> <p>Seth was drafted in the 1st round of the 1998 MLB draft by the Anaheim Angels (18th overall). He made his Major League debut in 2000 and spent parts of four seasons in the Major Leagues with the Angels, Reds, Athletics, and Royals. In his MLB career, Seth made 23 MLB starts with a career 9-7 record.</p> <p>After a few seasons pitching in the KBO (Korea), independent leagues, and Minor Leagues, he began coaching in 2013, eventually making his way back to become the pitching coach at USC.</p>

<p>On this episode of the CVCS Baseball Podcast, head coach Clemente Bonilla talks to two recent CVCS Graduates, Johnny Tewinkle and Logan Kelly.</p> <p>Johnny Tewinkle hit .371 with 8 HR and 51 RBI in 57 games at CVCS. He also threw 28.2 innings in relief to a 1.71 ERA with 28 K's with the Eagles. After graduating in 2022, Johnny played two seasons at Colorado Christian University where he posted a .296 batting average with 3 HR and 11 RBI in just 9 games. For the 2025 season, Johnny has returned to California after transferring to Biola University.</p> <p>Logan Kelly hit .346 with 5 HR and 48 RBI in 75 games at CVCS before graduating in 2023. During his freshman season at Colorado State University, Pueblo, Logan put up a .292 batting average with 4 HR and 15 RBI in 36 games.</p>
