On tonight’s program: Why are political debates suddenly falling out of favor? That would seen to be counterintuitive..; Florida’s already relaxed campaign laws just got a bit more relaxed; The state’s minimum wage is due for another increase come Oct. 1; The unrelenting culture war has demonized the nation’s immigrant community to a segment of the population already disposed to hear that message; Wonder of wonders! As long as anyone can remember, Florida had already experienced at least one hurricane by this time of the year. But THIS year? Nada….zero….zilch…..at least, so far; And those suffering from an especially virulent form of cancer continue their struggle to maintain a good quality of life despite the disease.

On tonight’s program: Local, state and federal candidates aren’t the only items on November’s Florida ballot. There are some pretty important and controversial constitutional amendments as well; Of all the amendments on the ballot, it’s the one about property tax reduction that’s drawing the most attention; President Trump may be against AI regulations, but it seems Governor DeSantis is taking a different tack. At the same time, Florida is moving to restrict the use of AI in public schools, along with state colleges; Alligator Alcatraz may be closed, but its grim reality continues to emerge; Florida’s jobless rate dropped slightly in August; And mental health therapy can take many forms….medication, counseling sessions and – believe it or not – board games.
