Posi+ivity Performance May 2026
Welcome to our 101st Think Cre8tive Sing-a-long for groups! Different members from all three of our Bolton Singing Clubs got together to perform these uplifting songs at Bolton Central Library on Wednesday 19 May 2026 as part of the Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2026 supported by London Arts and Health, and we asked singers to volunteer their thoughts on what keeps them positive - how they practice Critical Hope (Paolo Freire) in their worlds. Our singers all have different reasons for joining us. Some are bereaved, have family living at a distance, live with multiple and varied health conditions, or are being cared for/care for family. But when they come to Singing Club, they are singers (small "s"). After that, they are people: individuals with histories and futures, interests and experiences, minds and hearts. Many of the interviews focus on singing as a reason for hope and for managing fears and negative feelings, because this is one of the activities that they have chosen to attend where they always, always leave feeling better - better about themselves, about their lives, and about their world. Some even extend this into other ways they overcome negativity through self care. We hope that you enjoy the singing, the wide range and variety of songs, and that it inspires you to find a way to sing everyday.
