There are also so many practical questions surrounding the process of choosing a care home, moving in and what life is like for residents living in an elderly care home. This podcast aims to answer some of these questions and show you what life is like inside our care homes. Elderly care homes are often portrayed negatively, especially in the media. This podcast also aims to dispel these misconceptions and show you the positive and heart-warming side of elderly care for residents and those who work in our care homes. In each episode, guests will join us to cover a range of subjects surrounding elderly care. <p>Meet Terry Desmond! Terry is a former soldier and the Maintenance Manager at our Hyllden Heights Care Home in Hildenborough, Kent. In addition to Terry's maintenance duties, he also takes on the 'Well-being Champion' role at the home. As a trained yoga teacher, he conducts yoga classes for the residents and has introduced 'Mindfulness Mondays' for residents and team members.</p> <p>In this episode, we dig deeper into Terry's journey of well-being. Terry beautifully explains the concept of mindfulness and the practice of yoga, his experience of them both, and how they have benefitted him and given him a new outlook. We also talk about how he brings his experience with yoga and mindfulness into the care home environment to help team members and residents.</p>
