<p>When you are making a claim, it means you have suffered an injury or a loss that is generally related to a defined event listed in your insurance policy. These defined events are outlined in the insurance contract and are what the policy provides cover for. Common insured events include fire, flood, theft, explosion and earthquake. </p> <p>In this episode we speak to Scott Newland - General Manager – Government & Long-tail Claims at Gallagher Bassett who describes his experiences dealing with some of the biggest floods and hailstorms Australia has seen in years...<br> <br> Scott has worked in the General Insurance industry for over 15 years. Prior to joining Gallagher Bassett in October 2015, Scott developed comprehensive hands on claims experience across a wide range of industries and claims portfolios. Scott has previously held leadership roles for Marsh Pty Ltd and Insurance Australia Group (IAG) managing large and diverse teams across multiple portfolios. Scott excels in meeting and exceeding the service and performance expectations of his clients. As the National Operations Manager – General Insurance, managing a large and diverse team across multiple locations, Scott re-aligned the service standards, processes and streamlined procedures for the Gallagher Bassett business. Scott already has developed an intimate knowledge of the Gallagher Bassett accounts and has forged excellent working relationships with all stakeholders.</p>
