CareFull Practices is a podcast for people trying to create the care they want to witness in this world. Drawing from decades of community care, crisis support, and lived experience, these conversations explore sustainable, relational, and deeply human care practices -- beyond formulas, burnout, and survival. Together, we explore grief, fear, repair, mutuality, and the ongoing practice of building more honest relationships with ourselves and each other.
[PREVIEW] Deep Dive into Recognizing the narratives of stuckness, full-length episode
Join Ryder Fox and Ash Parker as they deep dive into the third practice in the Getting Unstuck program: Recognizing the narratives of stuckness
This conversation explores:
What are narratives of stuckness, and why is it important to identify them?
What is the role that narratives play in our experiences of stuckness?
How can building a relationship with our stuck narratives help us to get unstuck?
What are some examples of the narratives of your stuck points?
What are practices that have helped you to learn what your stuck narratives are?
What are practices that have helped you to address these narratives in ways that help you to (eventually) get unstuck?

Recognizing the Narratives of Stuckness
In this second episode of CareFull Practices Season 3, Ryder Fox dives into our third practice towards getting unstuck: recognizing the narratives of stuckness.
When we receive the same messages over and over, or learn that doing a specific thing keeps us safe, we internalize that message. We might not even realize that some narratives are internalized and aren't just objective truth.
We invite you to curiously examine the narratives behind your stuck points, and sit with what you've been telling yourself.
Check out our Patreon for our full-length episode, where Ryder and Ash will get honest about how easy it can be to beat ourselves up, take all of the blame, and silence ourselves in the company of these louder stuck narratives.
Ash will share more about their own experiences with taking the blame for others’ feelings and experiences. Ryder will talk about how hard it was for them to let go of the idea that they needed to stay inside an abusive relationship in order to be loved and have a family.

Identifying Patterns of Stuckness
In this second episode of CareFull Practices Season 2, Ryder Fox dives into our second practice towards getting unstuck: noticing the patterns of our stuckness.
When we're inside of what feels most stuck, we can forget that there might have been other experiences too... times that felt less stuck. We focus on survival, on getting out of the stuckness any way that we can. But what if instead we can notice the patterns of how our stuckness shows up, and use that to learn strategies of better navigating our stuckness?
We invite you to gently start to sit with your patterns of stuckness, and consider: have I seen this before?
Check out our Patreon for our full-length episode, where Ryder and Ash return back to the examples they shared last week to discuss patterns around each of those stuck points, and practice noticing these patterns.
