Carfessions is your weekly 15-minute catch-up from the car 🚗🎙️
Expect honest chats, chaotic opinions, mum life, wellness trends, gym talk, musical detours and plenty of tangents.
This week we’re discussing all the things we’ve collectively decided are simply… not our problem.
Putting petrol in the car, taking the bins out, recycling. Someone needs to do it. Will it be us? Unclear.
We’re also trying to work out whether we’re actually going on holiday next year, Meg shares FAR more than Aaron probably wanted anyone to know about his pooing habits (sorry Az x), and a leaking bathroom reveals just how painfully Type A and Type B we really are.
Basically, very normal problems discussed for much longer than necessary.

Can We Stop Optimising Everything?
Trigger warning: A little heads-up before we start: we briefly touch on eating disorders at the beginning of this episode. If that’s a sensitive subject for you, feel free to skip past that bit 🤍
Are we taking biohacking a bit too far? Why does EVERYTHING need optimising? Sleep, hormones, food, light, water, our morning routines... can we all just live?
We talk about our much more realistic version of biohacking and the little things we actually do to feel better without going too mad! There’s also rituals that keep us on track, sort of and things we’ve changed to reduce some of the unnecessary stuff we’re exposed to, and Josie’s new business idea specifically for people who’ve just come back from holiday. Someone please open shop.
Meggy gets extremely honest about hairy, smelly armpits and tampons, we share some embarrassing mum life stories, and then take our grievances to ASOS and PLT because WHAT is going on with returns and points, sorry?!
And If This Episode Was A Song is possibly our quickest yet because Meggy was approximately three seconds away from getting a fine.

People Pleasing & Other Things We’re Giving Up
This week we’re talking about people. Liking them, not liking them, trying to please them, setting boundaries with them and the slightly freeing realisation that maybe being misunderstood isn’t always something you need to fix.
We get into motivation vs discipline, making time for friendships in your 30s, showing up as yourself and whether you can do nice things for people without secretly expecting something back.
Elsewhere, Meg reveals why her spirit animal is apparently a pigeon, we investigate where the word “scum” came from, discuss Akon and Ne-Yo and whether you can actually tell our voices apart yet.
There’s also some mum chat thrown in: why the sound of your own baby crying can drive you particularly insane, hiding the Prep Machine when the health visitor comes round and Meg potentially getting arrested.
A bit of life advice, a bit of celeb gossip and a lot of conversations that probably didn’t need recording.

Is It My Star Sign Or Am I Just Like This?
A slightly self-indulgent one this week as we basically use our star signs as an excuse to talk about ourselves for 25 minutes.
Are we actually anything like our signs? Do we do nice things because we genuinely want to or are we secretly expecting something back? And somehow Meggy ends up getting a free therapy session.
We also get into femininity and masculinity, family traditions, body confidence after having a baby and whether pregnancy is actually the calm before the chaos.
Plus, Meg drove this week. She won’t be doing that again.
And obviously, the real pressing issue: what on earth is going on with the music in B&M?
An older Carfession, so no If This Episode Was A Song on this one. We clearly hadn’t got our act together yet.

We Went On The X Factor & Other Bad Decisions
This week we somehow go from our very sweaty X Factor experience to Groovy Chick, dance mats, Padel, HYROX and whether we’re all just competing with each other a bit too much now.
We discover Meggy has hidden skills, debate whether cortisol is getting blamed for everything, and get into the whole kids-with-phones conversation, schools, parenting and how on earth you’re supposed to know if you’re doing any of it right.
Also included: nostalgia, wrestlers with inexplicably enhanced boobs and more tangents than necessary.
Standard Carfessions really.

Everything You Didn’t Need To Know About Us
This week, we’re answering the questions you sent in and finding out far more about ourselves than anyone really needed to know!
We also ask each other the important partner questions nobody else seems brave enough to ask, including who would walk around the longest with pasta sauce on their face, who’s more likely to start an argument over the wrong sauce and which one of us is generally more concerning.
It’s self-indulgent, slightly exposing and probably the quickest way to learn about our weird little lives.
You asked. We overshared.

The Ick Episode
This week we're discussing the important things... like whether 3-in-1 shampoo is an immediate red flag, if men really need a 10-step skincare routine, and whether only children are a problem.
We also get into the horror of splitting the bill, asking for the service charge to be taken off, and the open mic night gossip involving Snapchat.
Plus, do girls have icks too? Is venting to your mates just a trap for unsolicited advice? And are baby sleep experts and feeding experts actually worth it?

Time Is A Man And He's Mad At Me
This week we're discussing people who are late, people who are offended by people who are late, and whether Type A, Type B and Type C personalities are actually a load of cods wollop.
We get into time anxiety, baby sleep coaches, regulating your nervous system, whether breathing is woo woo, and why Meg is convinced time is a man and she's permanently in his bad books!
We also discuss nostalgia, when £10 could get you a night out and a chippy and still leave you change, the mythical papier-mâché mums, and somehow manage to fit dentists, cuddles and pizza into the same conversation.
Oh, and apologies for the trolleys in the background, that's what you get when you film in a car park.

Is Everyone Just Showing Off?
This week’s Carfession is a proper spiral.
We’re talking Instagram at the moment, is everyone just showing off? Why do the likes appear when you look top banana, but disappear when you’re actually just living your life? We get into comparison, body comments, post-baby weight loss, wearing shorts to the gym, and whether not being an aesthetic girlie makes us less than.
We also ask the big questions. Are we old? Is it allowed to have a good time when you’re a mum? Who actually is Barbara O’Neill? Or is it Barbra Streisand? Or Bette Midler? Honestly, no one is safe.
Plus, our first proper “If This Episode Was A Song…” which somehow turned into a full 90s child cassette tape debrief.

Vision Boards, Delusions & Cod's Bollocks!
Welcome to the first ever Carfession girlies, and any brave men listening! 🎙️🚗
In our first episode, we discuss manifestation, filthy student houses, unrealistic expectations for women and whether vision boards are genius or complete cod's bollocks! We also go off on several tangents, as expected.
We're very excited (and slightly terrified) to finally share this with you! As this is a pilot, we've added more sparkle and fun (and singing!) to our next episodes!
so, buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!
