In this queer sci-fi audio drama, a girl in 1986 Rhode Island gets a cassette recorder for her 17th birthday, where she logs her daily life, beachside happenings, and conversations with her best friend Toni. But when the cute new girl at school, Lorena, asks her out on a date, August slowly starts to learn that Willowdale isn't what she thinks. Three students of Drifters Ridge High, all marred by varying circumstances, are brought together by a club dedicated to investigating the strange occurrences of their small, superstitious hometown. Kavir, the somewhat socially ostracized paranormal fanatic, Sam, the quirky ex-theatre kid, and Justin, one of the school’s top dogs, aren’t exactly what you’d call fast friends. However, as they go around solving the mysteries brought to them by various classmates and even faculty, they begin to realize that they might all need each other more than they think… and they start to think that maybe all of Drifters Ridge, NJ might need them too.

Deep below the surface of a hidden realm, humans are enslaved and forced to fight against beasts of myth and legend. Stripped of their names, these unwilling combatants have no choice but to kill to survive, all for the entertainment of a bloodthirsty audience. However, the seeds of rebellion are taking root, and one determined party of misfits will claw their way to freedom, or be crushed in the process.
