[…] And what struck me most about Brother Peel was his love for prayer. And many others will go on to describe him in similar terms, his great love for prayer. And when he celebrated Holy Mass, his pastor in Piaciacina, where he first celebrated Holy Mass after his ordination, because he had to stay with his family in Piaciacina for about five years after his ordination due to poor health. So his home parish became where he would go for mass often. And while he said mass, he had these long pauses of contemplation that his masses took longer than other masses celebrated by other priests. And in those moments of silence, you could see him enter into the mysteries which he was celebrating. […]
