About Centered From Reality
Alex Kopytko is a ”radical centrist” that wants to understand the extremes. He has worked in politics and has studied public policy and political science. Alex argues that centrism is less about being a contrarian, it is about being able to change your mind and embrace an openness to new ideas. He is concerned about where the United States is headed and through conversations with people from all sides of the political spectrum, he wants to know how Americans can limit the tribalism that is flourishing. As someone that dances along the center-right of the political spectrum, Alex thinks the country needs to come together and talk to one another before it could be too late. This podcast covers domestic politics, as well as political philosophy, and international issues.

[…] So that's always going to push you towards conservatism, I think. Another note just kind of on the nature of 20th century communist movements. I think most have more in common with Leninism and just the idea of a vanguard party of communism, which... in my eyes, is kind of inherently contradictory to it. So, yeah, I think that idea of a party or some kind of an organization that is at the forefront of these movements has kind of been embedded into the idea of a communist revolution when that doesn't... I don't think that is necessarily... I'm losing track of the words I'm trying to put together here, but basically the point of it being that even when these communist revolutionaries have come to power, I think in a lot of cases that like clinging to power or trying to maintain the position that they have in that society then kind of lends itself to there wouldn't be reactionary violence at that point.
